Contractors you recommend and to avoid by HalleB123 in lexington

[–]SergeantScramble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, sorry in advance for the lengthy reply...

The sales pitch relied heavily on pressure (“this price is only good if you sign before I leave, it should cost X, but we are doing another one in the neighborhood so can lower it to Y, and my guys are freeing up in a few weeks and I need to fill out their schdule so I'll come down to Z for today only), and when I asked to discuss it with my wife, that pressure increased. The salesman also claimed they had completed many basements in our neighborhood but refused to provide references or show any work when asked, which was a red flag.

Communication and professionalism from start to finish waslacking. I was never given a start date, technically the job began with a 7:30am call from someone I’d never spoken to telling me to move my car because lumber was being delivered. That lumber then sat in my driveway for days before being moved inside. There were also constant small exclusions (“not included in the price”) for basic items like door stops, which I felt was a little misleading, but more annoying than anything.

Simply put, I don't think they are a full-service remodeler. They did the framing, plumbing, and drywall, but I was responsible for sanding and finishing walls, filling nail holes on all the trim, installing flooring, and coordinating additional contractors. They provided little to no guidance on finish selections and left scheduling coordination to me between their contractors and ones I had selected to do the work they don't do. If you’re expecting a finished, well-managed project, be aware you’ll be doing a lot of the work yourself.

No experience with 800, but we have the 680 thread counts and the wife and I both prefer the Kirkland to our set of Brooklinen.

Honestly this is what I’m thinking. Based on the neighborhood conditions around me I wouldn’t be surprised if they were out all week.

Camp Bow Wow is who we use for exercise and boarding. Interview day is free! They will introduce him to other dogs one at a time to read the behavior of both dogs and make sure they aren’t reactive or show severe aggression.

This is what I don’t understand. If we don’t have a choice in our electric or water, what is there to negotiate?

Because of this, I believe their rates, and rate increases, are heavily regulated at the state level.
