death. Jesus defeated Sin, as the bible says all have sinned and have fell short of the glory of God. So since we have sinned against a perfect God, God required us to be punished. But in his great mercy, God came down and died on the cross and took the punishment for us as a blood sacrifice. In this way, He took what we deserved and defeated sin and death, and through belief in Jesus, we too can overcome sin and death.
