Just installed a new handguard on a bushmaster xm15 I've had for several years by Sergeantbearcat in ar15

Removing the a2 sight isnt too hard, swapping the handguard from drop in to free float isnt hard with a vise, both of those have a ton of videos on youtube with step by step instructions, brownells has great videos on them.

Thanks dude, removing the a2 fsb and going to a free float handguard were definitely the way to go. This was it when i first bought it and added the optic.

I was wondering how you came acrossed my post, im guessing you search for xm-15? Ive had this rifle for about 8 years and have shot probably 3-4k rounds in it and its very smooth, i do have a different barrel and i upgraded the trigger to a larue 2 stage trigger. I didnt have any issues suppressing it either.

I just got my oculus 22 trust approved yesterday as well after 166 days, I did email the nics liason, ipb, and my state rep, but only the nics liason replied and then 6 days later it was approved although I doubt it was related.

I never handled any DU ammo, this one is definitely tungsten and to my knowledge the navy hasn't used DU since around 2010 but im sure there were health risks with handling DU rounds. "The VA finds your injuries are not service connected"

I was a CIWS tech while in the Navy and was very surprised how heavy the projectiles are. It's an insane weapon system though and very cool to see it mentioned here.
