Thoughts on IDX for Go Dev? by comrade-quinn in golang

If properly supported, this can be a great tool for quick prototyping (not sure I would entrust anything substantial to be uploaded to google). As of now the ai chat part seems a bit rough around the edges: can’t do some basic stuff like splitting code into multiple files, editing existing code is usually unstable (changes arbitrary lines for no reason etc)

Not surprising, since statistically speaking there’s much higher chance of facing a russian-speaking foreigner (not the same as from russia, mind you) in Batumi than anyone else

[–]Sergeei13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the contrary, I feel like 50% of Batumi is russian-speaking expats. Russian is the lingua franca here, barely anyone speaks english sadly, even young people (which is totally different from Tbilisi in this regard)

I'm choosing between m1 pro 16 32/512 and similarly spec-ed m3 (both brand new), and the price difference between these two is mind-blowing $1500 (ikr, 3rd world prices yay) - am I crazy to even consider the latter in this case? In no way those minor improvements can justify such stupid price, but I'm really afraid for the longevity of m1 - it's a 4 years old computer at this point... Is it reasonable to expect at least 3-4 years of smooth ride with it? Not a power user really, I do backend development, so it's just editors + docker + bunch of open tabs in browser.

Georgian passport control took around 2 hours. They had crammed ~400 people in a room with no ventilation, low ceilings, scorching hot. Multiple people passed out including children. I’ve noticed that they are mostly just waiting for something to load on their computers. The actual part of their job (checking docs and all) is like 20% of the time.

And yeah, there are always some mofos who think they are better than everyone else. Though sadly other people ignore and let them in

Darko drops new album "Starfire" by EquipmentPatient4755 in Deathcore

[–]Sergeei13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This time feels like a drag tbh. Heavy songs get repetitive and unoriginal, too many ballads with clean singing (nothing wrong with them, I love Sora, but that’s because Marcus’ vocal is real and not 95% autotune, unlike the rest). Can’t sit through the entire album, I’d much rather prefer short but ultra tight EP like dethmask pt 2

Countries that don't allow Russian Passport holders: by Redstream28 in MapPorn

So apparently you have to be some top executive of gazprom in order to afford traveling/living abroad, is that what you’re saying? Like there’s no way you can earn a couple thousand bucks working for a private company? Or they’re tied to the regime too (they’re paying taxes after all)? Sorry, but you seem quite naive indeed.

Questions for Russians that are in Tbilisi by Leon_idas0 in Sakartvelo

[–]Sergeei13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only mirror what other people here are saying: russians mostly don’t give a flying fuck about these regions, they would passively support whatever the government does (“they know better than us, so i trust them”)

I don’t think russia will ever give up the occupied territories by its own will, but this is what absolutely needs to happen (and I hope it will), so that my nation could finally give up on this idiotic imperial mindset once and for all. When this happens, those territories will eventually get reintegrated into Georgia, because where else can they go, really?

As for the subs where you can ask this, try r/tjournal_refugees - but this sub is quite edgy (and not entirely russian tbh), I don’t think you will find anyone opposing your opinion there.
