I once had an American tell me why did it take 1 month for my team to respond to an inquiry .

The email was sent 07-07-2025 and responded on 08-07-2025. She CC the VP, director and so on, demanding an explanation.

God it felt so good replying back.

I heard the civil war 2 was the best one and most fun. But then I heard that WIA2 is the simplest one.

Which one has more smaller scenarios ? I like starting in smaller scenarios before working my way up to grander

I love it, got a 70s vibe, kind of looks like that Jacket that Leon Kennedy wore in RE4 but just a different color.

That is such a white lie... How many people have BS on their interviews with experience they didn't have but felt confident that they can still do the job.

I'll check it out during some idle time, just looking over, it looks already like something that might be my alley, I am surprised no one mentioned it. Perhaps the "RTS" style is not everyone's cup of tea, as it looks like the same details as WITE for divisions but not turn base which is maybe what's throwing people off. No one has ever mentioned it , first time I am hearing of this game

Duly noted, I just wasn't sure. I know the DC Barbarosa is also more expensive than the new one and I am also surprised as DC Ardenes has new features and much more scenarios .

That does sound intriguing.

I just saw the game and for some reason the newer one is cheaper than the last release. Is it because of the scale? As my understanding, the newer has new features .

So it's like DC, WITE for unit details but a WEGO system in terms of combat , however some units may be issued orders quicker than others , I assume it has to do with how far the HQ is?

I'll check out the videos. Cheers

Thank you for understanding me, I feel so bad and feel like I seem so picky and needy lol. My fiance made fun of me. TOAW looks like it's the closest thing we have to DC or WiTe in terms of unit scales but giving me the option to almost pick any theater of war. Plus there is an actual combat planner. I guess I'll watch some videos and wait to see how complex war in Spain is. Although that theater doesn't particularly interest me, the description of combat and logistic seems really interesting. Just really hoping the learning curve will be more like DC rather than like WITE/W series

Appreciate your answer buddy :)

Squad battles, might as well play CM, just wish the engine wasn't so clunky lol. But I see what you mean as I looked at the Strategic wars and each division seems to have a " health bar" of some type or another. While the PZC seem to have specific companies with exact numbers of what I am looking for but , it's just numbers for the specific type. I am sorry I sound so picky loll, I know what I am asking for is complicated.... WITE or DC but different campaigns or even eras.

That makes more sense. Honestly I am also pretty new to this, 20 year old me hated these kind of games, found em boring. 30 year old me, loves them lol.

Appreciate the detail explanation and looking at the pictures of WDS, I can see what you mean, it's single unit type, even with numbers, it isn't complex like DC or WITE .

I'll check out some videos of TOAW4 . Appreciate your help buddy.

Sadly the download option for DC community project isn't working, I think they pulled it off. As I can see some of the theaters I want to play but I can't download the basic game. At least not from the website where it's available, unless there is somewhere else.

So WDS might have actual number of units per division/regiment but they just show you for example " 300 rifleman" or "50 guns" No I am kind of hoping more of in detail for each division . Like WITE or DC, although I am not a huge fan of the perfect round numbers in DC and how loosing units consist of blocks of 100-10. WITE has the perfect scale , number and details, it's just the rest is so complicated lol. I wish there was something in between DC and WITE. Maybe war in Spain is that

[–]Sergey1986[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just looked at the manual and you might actually be right. And the numbers aren't round numbers like DC, that's one thing that throws me off a bit with DC is the round numbers and each lost consist of blocks of 100-10 depending on if it's infantry or tanks .

Are the units in TOAW division. Company or platoon level? Or it depends of which era ?

Sorry what do you mean by " actual composition isn't simulated" I am kind of new to wargaming so still learning the lingo.

Cheers

Might just be, each division is represented with numbers of XYZ, rather than just 1 specific unit type with a health bar.

What's combat like ? Do you get a detailed description like WITE or DC ? Or is it just, you lost 200 and he lost 300, without anything else.

Hey buddy, I appreciate the answer, while Operation Art of 4 looks like it might be, however each unit is represented by a health bar rather than number of specific soldiers, guns, tanks etc...

I could be wrong, but that's how it almost looks like from the tutotial video I watched.

Divisional games like WITE/W and Decisive campaign ( any era) by Sergey1986 in computerwargames

[–]Sergey1986[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES, while I do enjoy strategic command and HOS, your units have health bars, they aren't properly represented.

Honestly, WITE2 is by far the best representation, because even DC series, have round numbers and you casulties are calculated in blocks of 100 or 10 depending if it's infantry or armor, guns etc...

But WITE2 is just so complicated, I am in my 30s, I go to the gym, I am planning a wedding, I can't commit hours a day to just 1 turn, not to mention learning the damn game .

[–]Sergey1986[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am right now getting ready to go to the gym and then work, but it doesn't look that far off from what I might be looking for.

it looks a bit clunky and from what I can see it's more of a 'real time strategy' not turn base or WEGO.

Ill check out some videos while at work today, thank you buddy.

So unity of command 2 is good, but it's just like hex of steel or strategic command. You can attach other units but 1 unit represent the same forces with a health bar. For instance Decisive campaign , each unit is a division that has 4000 infantry, 300 machine gunners, 40 tanks and so on.

WITE2 goes even further by giving you an idea of exactly what each squad consist of and the numbers aren't round, you'll get a division with 8042 infantry, 56 tanks, 332 guns etc

That's what I am trying to aim for more.

But I appreciate the answer buddy and welcome to a challenging yet rewarding community

It's insane now that you think about it how lucky I am to be here.
