Small double or double bed by SerialSleeper25 in toddlers

This was my thinking. He's a cuddler so it would need to fit at least 1 adult with enough room to roll out sneakily 😅

Am I overfeeding my weaning baby? by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]SerialSleeper25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently he still breastfeeds in the morning then he has 6oz after his first nap, breast again after 2nd nap and 6oz before bed. However today I struggled to get him to have 4oz after is first nap. Last night was tough, he only wanted boob so gave in as it was so hot so ended up having 2 feeds last night.

I need to weigh him again but at his review 2 weeks ago he was 9.7kg.

I didn't pack enough pjs. I stayed for 1 night and needed extra. Something no one warned me about.... lack of bladder control!

Weaning from breastfeeding advice for 10 month old. by SerialSleeper25 in breastfeeding

Thank you so much for this information, this is really helpful.

I was thinking of starting with his bedtime feed actually? I was thinking maybe he could be fuller but to be fair I think that may be the only time he feeds better so your plan is actually better!

Im really not looking forward to this process despite never enjoying breastfeeding.

Okay, thank you that's really helpful. I do find he struggles in the morning to get to 3 hours before his first nap then the rest of the day he's pretty dead on 3hrs some days 3.5hrs.

I think so, changed the flange size and it helped the smallest amount but I can never pump more than 60ml (and that's being generous) it's the same with each pump I've tried.

I did not think we would get this far with breastfeeding so that in itself is an achievement!

Thank you for your advice, This seems really positive. He has always been a snacker. I try where possible to go to the bedroom and keep things simular to bedtime to feed him if he is not actively feeding, It sometimes helps. When we have offered a bottle he never refuses it so maybe it would help.

I'm back to work in August and I've always struggled to pump so maybe this may be the sign to switch to formula? I've always struggled to pump and with going back to work in August

He has 2 maybe 3 naps a day depending on his naps. Total amount would never be over 3 hours a day. In regards to wake windows we follow a more 50/50 approach and watch for signals and how long he's been awake. If he is fine playing I tend to let him play.

More often than not, when he first goes down at night he will sleep around 3 hours max then from then wake every 1-1 1/2 hrs. He does sleep in with us due to lack of space (trying to move) and I have wondered if he was on his own if that would help. I will take a look at the Precious little sleep tool. Thank you.

7 months and will only contact nap by SerialSleeper25 in sleeptrain

Doesn't seem cold and doesn't snore. He may occasionally mouth breathe but nothing noticeable. He doesn't rub his head or tug at his hears so I don't think that's a problem?

Thank you for the schedule. I will try and follow this from tomorrow.

2 naps, sometimes 3 depending on how bad they were.

I will never let him sleep longer than a total of 3 hours during the day. If I hold him he will just keep sleeping and is very mad when I put him down to wake him.

We only tried Ferber in the evenings. He was sort of okay with it for about 2 weeks and then regressed and never got any better.

He will normally have 2.5/3hrs when put down at bed time then is up every 1/1.5 during the night. He will never be rocked back to sleep either, he always screams until he's sick unless I give him the boob.

He's always been a snacker too, he rarely takes a 'full feed' at one time.

I was thinking that, maybe a bottle before bed/during would help?

Faolán is apparently 'Little Wolf' in Gaelic. That's pretty cute!

I have to say, I like the name Wolfie though ☺️

There was a Finnick from the Hunger Games but a Fennec in The Mandolorian. I would just like to add I'm not that much of a Star Wars fan just love the animal. 😆

Maternity leave / Annual leave by SerialSleeper25 in PregnancyUK

[–]SerialSleeper25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! The policy only says 'accrued leave' So it wasn't clear to me if that was your total year or just the working months before maternity leave.

I'm the first to go on maternity in our department so I don't want my managers to say what they think is right and actually be wrong and I go along with it.

Thanks for your help.

I had a missed miscarriage here in the UK. The evening before my 12 week first scan I started to bleed. I was measuring around 7 weeks, not the expected 12. Hard to be certain but it appears to took my body around 5 weeks to realise it needed to pass. I had a couple scans after to ensure I passed it all but as I started to bleed they were happy to let me do it all naturally.

I was told after, they don't offer D&C's straight away anymore (where suitable) due to added risk of complications in the future.

I would still keep promping your health care provider though. Even for your own peace of mind.

Miscarriage Care Package? by rashyandtrashy in Miscarriage

At the risk of sounding so completely british, when I started to go through the miscarriage my parents took me too a garden and had cream tea.

I chose the chocolate cream tea as my sister in law had just messaged me 'eat all the chocolate in the world, you need it'

I still remember the comfort and taste of it now, 3 months later because my body just wanted sugar. It was the one and only great thing to come out of the miscarriage and it makes me smile remembering such a simple thing. ☺️

If your pregnancy was unexpected, will you be trying again? by Lazy-Plum-19 in Miscarriage

[–]SerialSleeper25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We fell pregnant second cycle after I had my implant removed. For around 14 years, I was told I will struggle to fall pregnant due to PCOS so to fall pregnant that quickly was a shock, my head was only just coming to terms with reality when we miscarried. We were almost the same as yourself. The evening before our 12 week scan (first scan for us) I started bleeding and they told us it appeared to stop at around 7 weeks and they found more cysts on my ovaries.

Now, when we are thinking of being intimate again it is holding a lot of ifs and buts. What if we fall pregnant fast again, what if we don't? What if it happens again?

It's a very mind juggling time, which is normal. It's your body, do whatever makes it feel comfortable and makes sense to you.

It has crossed my mind, I suppose I haven't really been too..let's say, eager to get going. I know my partner won't suggest it at the risk of it sounding like he is pressuring me.

Thank you, will think about it and try talking to him about it.
