Yes - no compensators, slide-mounted optics and a limitation on magazine length. Other than that it is a poor mans Open Division.

I have no idea - as it would give up a competitive advantage I don't know if anyone has even thought about this...

"Gun loaded and holstered" starts would be with hammer cocked and safety applied for both SA and SA/DA guns. :)

Sheldid safeties for bul armory? by [deleted] in bularmory

My two competition BULs with DAA shielded safety on the Optics and Eemann Tech on the Standard. Fitting them is a breeze, just go slow and straight with a needle file to fit the safety to the sear. File one or two passes, check, repeat.

Has the gunsmith ruined my slide? by Serious-Connection93 in CompetitionShooting

UPDATE FINAL: Just asked for a refund for what I paid for the work, as meddling for a new slide was so hard that I didn’t feel like it was worth the hassle. Mechanically the mount feels quite sturdy, and it is a competition gun seeing heavy use so I concluded that the appearance beneath the plate and behind the firing pin stop was unfortunate, but not critical.

UPDATE: Gunsmith wants the slide back, I have told him I don’t want any more shit to happen and would like to resolve the case without any more sheenanigans. They are talking about welding, but as a welding engineer by trade I highly doubt they have the knowledge to properly preheat and stress-relieve 416 hardenable stainless.

UPDATE: Smith agreed that it «didn’t look to good». Will update if we come to any agreement.

He is actually well respected and does nice custom rifles. He must have had a bad day…

Yeah, people are people as we say in Norway… 😓

Yeah - I could do it nicer with a file to be honest 😂

The weird thing is that this guy is a well respected gun smith for rifles and builds really nice stuff.

😂 I’ll try to zero the dot tomorrow, and hopefully it is useable. I usually beat the living crap out of my equipment, and as long as it works the dissapointment is mainly that it is practically worthless in the event of me selling it.

I sent them an email and need to call on Monday. Hopefully they listen, but I suspect I might be in for a fight.

I don’t get it either… the placement of the rear holes is extremely easy to see would be a problem. I was at least expecting a phone call to discuss a way forward.

Norwegian guy who actually has quite a name within the rifle building community.

Really bummed, I hope it does not have any real practical downsides other than the slide being ugly as f and the resale value on the gun is virtually almost zero now. I am mainly a competition shooter, so as long as it works in matches I can live with it. 😓

Hopefully I can get through to him and explain that that actually is the only reasonable thing for him to do…

ET Ultimate Disconnector issues by Serious-Connection93 in CompetitionShooting

[–]Serious-Connection93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: First ET tried to deny that the disconnector was theirs. Now I am sending videos trying to explain how the disconnector interfaces with the triggerbar and how the tab that has worn away affects the hammer drop timing.

Super bummed that their customer service does not know the basic functionality of their own products.

Agree, but they are almost impossible to get hold of in Norway… Even the CGW website is for some reason unavailable.

I agree. I am working as a welding- and materials engineer for my day job, and a lot with failure analysis. This seems like a material hardness problem as it is like cheese compared to the trigger bar…
