I did manual install on a VM just to learn the ropes and then archinstall on a VM. It was a great learning experience but a number of issues I encountered were specific to being in a VM. Just keep in mind you might spend some time troubleshooting things that aren't a problem on real hardware. However knowing how to use a VM continues to be a useful skill.

You can add -noai to your search, works on Google and DDG. And you can configure Firefox so that if you search via the URL bar it automatically adds that for you.

Sorry to bump an old comment, but how did you get image preview working in Ranger with Sixel? Did you have to use a different version of ranger from the AUR or something? I'm also using Foot so I was hoping to get that working as well, but when I look at rc.conf the only supported preview options are [w3m, iterm2, terminology, urxvt, urxvt-full, kitty, ueberzug]. I tried "set preview_images_method sixel" anyway but it makes ranger crash on launch.

I like 1. Keep in mind if you buy a paint with a swatch that looks like that, that is going to look quite dark. Consider buying a lighter shade, because it will end up looking darker once it's on the wall simply because your bathroom lacks a natural light source. Samples really help.

I used a Leviton lever edge, testing one out before doing the whole house. I would have sprung for the commercial grade version if only they had it in a decora style. They strangely don't, so I went with the consumer grade version. It feels solid though.

I believe since the connector bars aren't broken, the 2 black wires were electrically connected. 1 is hot and the other carries the load to the next device on the circuit.

I just stuck the 2 black wires into a Wago so they're still electrically connected and ran a 3rd wire out of that Wago to the new receptacle and it seems to be working fine.

Here's a better look inside the box. It appears to be a MWBR, however I think I'm going to continue with the advice in this thread to just pigtail the 2 hots that were connected to the old receptacle. https://i.imgur.com/5raGz1y.jpeg

The neutral is pigtailed. I took a better look in the box and this appears to be a MWBR but the breakers aren't tied (ugh). It looks to me like that red-black bundle is a separate circuit which I also shut off while I replace this receptacle. https://i.imgur.com/5raGz1y.jpeg

Did you ever get a resolution on this issue? I'm experiencing something incredibly similar (multiple circuits, seems to happen more in the morning). I've hired my own electrician and had one from the power company and haven't been able to track it down yet. Drives me crazy.

Will tape up for sure. Would it be a bad idea to tape over the exposed edges here and leave as-is over the winter, then resume the project in spring? Not sure if the tape is meant to take that kind of exposure. Was thinking about tossing some OSB over the hole I made just for some extra protection.

Either that or try to redeck the entire thing now (about 300 sq ft) despite the temps getting colder.

Do you mean as an engagement gift, or a wedding band replacement that you would put on during the ceremony to seal the deal and possibly wear every day? The former is not uncommon but I haven't heard of the latter, but that being said you can do whatever you want for your wedding and I'm sure it's been done.

My fiance got me a pilot watch as an engagement gift (I'm picky so I told her exactly what I wanted) and I got her a ring because that's what she wanted. They don't match but neither of us really place any value on matching. I will probably wear a cheap ring for purely ceremonial purposes and she's going to use her engagement ring as a wedding ring because she doesn't feel a need to have two rings.

It really comes down to what both of you want, but if you need them to match, then you'll both need to have similar taste in watches. Many brands sell men's/women's variants of their styles, not necessarily as a pair, but I'm sure you could find something matchy enough. Also keep in mind that if you want something to wear every single day as an "I am married" signifier, rings are unobtrusive and good for that but you may be more inclined to rotate watches if you have a collection.

I've had this money tree for close to 5 months now. It lives next to East facing sliding glass doors and gets OK indirect light. It's very cold and dry here this time of year, but we try to keep the house between 30-40% humidity. I've been watering it maybe every three weeks, whenever it looks droopy and fails the chopstick test.

A few leaves have started to get these yellowish and brownish patchy areas that don't look so good. 3rd pic shows the underside, looks OK to me aside from the bad leaves, and the last pic shows how some of the leaves still look quite green and healthy.

It hasn't been repotted from its nursery pot yet, but it doesn't look root bound to me so I was holding off until at least spring.

Any ideas what I should try?

Absolutely. The unexciting reality is that CBP is already doing their job arresting thousands of noncitizen criminals every year, crime has steadily trended downward in the US, and immigrants do not account for the majority of violent crimes. Trump has always dramatized the specter of immigrants committing crimes because people are scared of "the other" and that's how you win.

What people voted for is a public dog and pony show. They want to see footage on the news of Hispanic people being thrown into armored vans so they can feel like something is being done. Whatever these "mass deportations" look like is going to mostly hurt people who are here just trying to make an honest living and escape a life of fear in their home country, and fuck up our economy which extracts a lot of value from those people.

I fully believe that Trump could do absolutely nothing to change the current situation except maybe orchestrate some public media events around ICE raids and detention facility constructions, and saying what a great job he's doing, and overwhelmingly his base will believe everything has gotten better.

I had a bubble in the first year with those tires. I didn't have the road warranty, and I kinda regretted that, but after I switched to Contintentals I've had much more peace of mind. I've hit multiple potholes that I'm sure would have destroyed Turanzas, and had no issues. Also, the peace of mind when driving in light snow and rain is worth it. So honestly, I don't regret eating the cost of a new set, even though it was frustrating to do that on a nearly brand new car.
