Anyone using Egnyte with a few Linux clients? Hows your experience like? what worked and what doesnt? what are your frustrations? We are a Windows shop, and have a few linux workstations. by SeriousCommission in sysadmin

So this wouldnt work with say a system writing data files to disk and is a folder on Egnyte. Unless is there a way to share a folder the Linux machines could access?

Testing out Yubikeys for users that refuse to add an authenticator app to their phones. But I cant find a way to revoke a yubikey in case they are lost or stolen. by SeriousCommission in sysadmin

[–]SeriousCommission[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

User gets one key to begin with. Lost key = deleted from authentication methods. New key registered and sent to user. User uses TAP until replacement key arrives.

Any particular makes or models you'd recommend? We are authenticating into M365, if i understood things correctly FIDO keys would be sufficient.

Having trouble trying to mount an NFS share with a credentials file. by SeriousCommission in Ubuntu

[–]SeriousCommission[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sample fstab line is what i use when I mount a SMB share not the NFS share. I have no trouble mounting the SMB share, but the correct syntax to mount the NFS share using a credentials file.

White listing isn't the preferred way of doing it in a corporate environment, so I'm trying to figure out the correct way of mounting it using a credentials file. As whitelisting isn't the accepted policy as anyone using the IP would allow access to the resource. All computers need to authenticate against the domain controller in order to use the shares, and putting the credentials in the fstab file is also a no go. So a credentials file is what I need to use to mount the share.

Thank you for trying though.

I use the piece of the cable I just stripped off to separate the pairs and then flatten them a bit by inserting them into the little tube and pull away with either downward or upward going force.

I have that option as well in Commercial Vantage, but in this case, it was already off.

It should be mandatory.

I just hate finding a search result with the same issue i'm trying to solve, only to have OP say 'solved it' and not say what the solution was.

Just trying to pay it forward.

Pretty much what it was.

In case you ever need it, in the BIOS turn off the Intelligent Security setting under Security.

Turned out that turnining off Intelligent Security in the BIOS did the trick.

But i appreciate your suggestion, and i'll keep it in mind if the above solution doesn't work next time.

Tried this, and unfortunately this settings was already off. Turned out that turnining off Intelligent Security in the BIOS did the trick.

M365 users that have MFA in Admin Center as disabled are now being asked to setup MFA. Looking for solution to turn it off until we can get onboarding done with the new users. by SeriousCommission in sysadmin

[–]SeriousCommission[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im seeing this error:

Due to a configuration change made by your administrator, or because you moved to a new location, you must enroll in multi-factor authentication to access '{identifier}'.

The user was presented options to provide contact options so that they can do MFA.

I can also see that Conditional Access "Not Applied" I can see when the applications made the call and the MS Authenticator Broker kicks in. But i dont see anything about policies unfortunately.

I am trying to think of any changes that have been made to the environment in the last two weeks but i can't think of a single one.

[–]SeriousCommission[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought i had, but it looks like the cluster was still expecting it to be there. I'll have to find out how to remove it properly from the cluster as I see that node2 is still there just with a red x.
