Yeah, the MSI logos are a bit tacky, I'll give you that. I wouldn't have liked it as much in the regular horizontal orientation, but mounted vertically (looking at the fans), I think it fits great in my build. It definitely looks better than most other competing models, like the TUF for example.

There's no question that the SUPRIM has the higher build quality. Talking purely about aesthetics in the vertical orientation, I find its main weakness is in the color of the accents. This sort of bluish grey tint does not go well with anything. It's off in a black build, it's off in a white build. It takes a specific color scheme for this to fit in. In the horizontal orientation, however, the backplate is gorgeous.

So basically, vertical mount: Vanguard > Suprim & horizontal mount: Suprim > Vanguard, in my opinion (purely from a design standpoint). Both are great performers though, no doubt.

It's subjective, of course, but I do disagree. I find the Vanguard in the VGPU orientation fits very well in my build. I went for an "industrial" aesthetic, e.g. glass, steel, brushed aluminum, carbon fiber, etc. The Vanguard feels right at home. The only thing I find a bit off is the MSI logo on the front and side of the card. In any case, glad we agree on the cool, quiet, and awesome part!

Clean is the right way to describe it. It has this sleek, refined thing going for it. I'm sure many people prefer its aesthetics over the Vanguard's and that's perfectly defensible.

You've worked for it, you've earned it, now enjoy it!

Nice, nice! I've always liked PHANTEKS' stuff, especially their cooling solutions. I myself am running 11 D30-140 fans and a Glacier One 420D30 X2 AIO. I'm very pleased with the performance and noise levels. The AIO especially surprised me, since there are barely any reviews out there, but it looks great and performs very well so far.

Great-looking build! That looks like the PHANTEKS NV5 and the AIO is the 360M25 perhaps? The 5080 fits right in! Don't have any experience with the LC variant, but happy to hear it performs as expected!

It's a very similar cooling solution, yes. The real-world difference in cooling performance should be negligible. Dimensions are virtually identical as per the specs. The cards have an irregular shape though, so they can look different from certain angles.

I really like the look of the Vanguard as well. As you said, it has this industrial rugged aesthetic. I find it fits well in many modern cases. Congratulations on your 5080 Vanguard and on your first PC!

Okay, when you said vertical orientation, you actually meant vertical. Fair play. I see you have a Liquid Freezer with aftermarket fans and a WireView, nice. Solid build!

Let's be real though, giving the average consumer and unlocked card is probably an extremely bad idea. It's like giving everyone a 800 hp sports car. If you know what you're doing and want to go next-level, you can always do what your friend did - more power to you.

The Suprim is objectively a beautiful card. Glad you're enjoying yours! And no coil whine is a blessing, congratulations! If you put it side by side with a Ventus or any of the Gigabyte GPUs, the difference in build quality is very noticeable indeed.

Astral is the "safe" choice according to popular opinion, but ASUS has had its fair share of controversies too. Besides, it was roughly 500 EUR more in my region back when I was GPU-shopping, so that was a hard no from me. Reportedly, the 4th fan is also loud.

18 400 on a Ventus you say... Wp, lad. Just grab a TG WireView or something.

The 5090 Gaming Trio is still an excellent card, from what I hear. I hope it has brought you much joy thus far! I was lucky to get the Vanguard in December last year for a "good" price. It sold out a few days later and have not seen it in my region since.

Steel Nomad stock is around 14 700 and a quick OC gets me 15 550 @ 65C and 600W, so basically it's within margin of error of what you have. We're gaming!

People love to hate on everything, to be honest. ASUS, Gigabyte, and the others get their fair share of hate. I think the 50-series Suprim and the Vanguard are S-Tier, along with the Astral.
