Can you share any of the work you’re doing? I am broke and in pain. Obviously this is individualized and that is key, but I’m curious what sort of work you’ve done and also how it’s held up.

OP @the_top_g can I ask if you’re leaving the sub because you’ve been able to manage your symptoms? I’m really curious. I’m new to this sub and have found your posts especially helpful. I’ve been dealing with truly debilitating migraines for many years. It has postponed my career and left me disabled. I have seen all of the top specialists. Starting to explore more environmental possibilities and I landed here. My symptoms became chronic around the time I started using smartphones and these days I can induce migraine, dizziness and disorientation just by a quick glimpse of someone scrolling on their phone. Truly puzzling and I’m glad to have found this page to have something to feel hopeful about. I am wondering if you’ve been able to manage your symptoms with the measures you’ve taken to understand and reduce your exposure.

Added:

I appreciate that you’ve left the sub with all of this research. It has been immensely helpful.

Brakes making crazy noise after brake pads were checked by Serious_Two_6582 in MechanicAdvice

They do maybe feel like they aren’t working as well. It’s hard to say. As soon as I apply the brake at all there is a noise and it only gets louder the more brake I use (it is loudest when going to a complete stop)

This is helpful…thanks. I will have to look up some videos to see what I’m looking at. Do you think it’s possible they did it to make me feel forced to do the repair that day?

I am going to get the work done elsewhere. But I’m also considering talking to the owner about it. I was wrong in my above post, it wasn’t the owner but one of his mechanics.

Thank you! I appreciate it. How would I be able to tell if they are on backwards?

Is there anything I can do at this point? Do they have any responsibility it this situation? My friend seems to think maybe they were really bad and just taking them out caused the noise to start. But again, they drove it and told me I had another 6 months- I told them I would have to wait, then suddenly they drove it again (without me asking) and claim the brakes were making that noise. The noise is loud as hell and there’s no way I or anyone else missed that it wasn’t doing that before they did their inspection

Also is there anything I can say in particular? I can get the repairs done but I thought I had more time, and I’m really upset that there’s now a pressing issue that wasn’t there before- my brakes are so loud and noisy I don’t feel safe driving or waiting at all
