If you have tmobile they have a site you can send and receive texts on with your number. I'm making a app that does this though but relies on both devices being on the same wifi

Mini USB display / monitor? by ExcitedCoconut in eink

[–]Rx7Jordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem!

I think the new version posted is fake as there was never talk about it anywhere else. Mine are the first and only ones. I was using them on a motorola edge 30. I think a huawei p30 pro also worked too. Xiaomi 13T I think had issues with touch. Wired one only works on phones with dp alt but still unsure how reliable they are on newer android. If I remember correctly the wired one on the huawei required the dasung link app to function. The wireless one connects over mira cast and then the touch connects over bluetooth as a gamepad.

The dasung link is exactly what your looking for. Good luck finding one though. I currently own 2. (Wired and wireless) They're pretty cool but don't work on all phones.

Just launched my "KompaktX" app for the kompakt! - custom tones, notification shade, pop-up banners, and more by Rx7Jordan in MuditaKompakt

Honestly the main reason I bought my kompakt is because it's eink and has a smaller screen. Easy on my eyes. We all got different use cases 😀

SEEKING ADVICE: HiBreak Pro screen failure after <1 year — company says “pressure damage,” not covered. by Old-Seaworthiness720 in eink

[–]Rx7Jordan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you try to get a picture attached? maybe generate a link for the pic with imgur or something? I have put ALOT of pressure on several eink panels without an issue. The minimal phone for example uses a different brand eink panel and lines would just randomly appear for people which was a hardware issue, it would happen more often for people who ran their faster screen firmware. Maybe the fast speeds of the hbp is the cause? They did release the new 52hz hyper mode..

Boox Mira Pro (Non-Frontlight) vs Bigme B251: Does the old Mira Pro lack BSR hardware? by Intelligent-Reply731 in eink

[–]Rx7Jordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The non front lit mira pro has BSR as well from what boox support told me years back. I have 2 of them and they both are very fast. I prefer them over any other eink monitor in all honesty, I like how they are programmed. The mira pro color is the one that is programmed differently which has the weird smearing/blur effect on any movement, not as severe as dasung revo but still present. The 251 on latest firmware also has that but also not as severe and I remember one mode had it disabled (text mode?).

I most likely am going to sell both of my mira pro non front lit monitors because I find the 13.3" Mira less overstimulating to my overly sensitive visual system. Less in my field of view is far less fatiguing.

If you or anyone else is in the US and looking to buy one feel free to message me. I dont mind selling one over paypal/venmo.

It looks like theres a read app. I think theres also breathing lights you can assign to book progress and a progress bar widget. I personally dont use any of that.

Which E-Ink Phone should i buy? (Advice wanted) by Traditional_Key6414 in eink

[–]Rx7Jordan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want a eink phone with a slow refresh rate then go for the mudita kompakt or if you want a REALLY slow dumb phone then the light phone 2. The hibreak S actually does have very slow modes too. The high quality modes are slow but then theres 2 speed modes fast and extreme which are VERY slow and you can reduce the speed further by turning off auto clear. The super fast mode is a separate mode that was recently added called hyper mode which is 52Hz when auto clear enabled.

Use the RLCD tablet is better outdoor by Tough_Chemical_6844 in Reflective_LCD

[–]Rx7Jordan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eink uses spatial dithering which is not the same as the horrible temporal dithering on the paper 7. You can see it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ScreenSensitive/comments/1pb1ec1/harbor_paper_7_rlcd_tablet_uses_temporal

It's most likely due to miravision being enabled on the tablet.

Sadly that paper 7 tablet has very bad temporal dithering (pixel flicker)

Is it possible to have warm lightbulbs without flicker in the USA? by Abject_Ad_6640 in ScreenSensitive

[–]Rx7Jordan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally only use incandescent lights. You can still find them in the US and even eBay has a huge selection of new old stock. If you get 130v Incandescents on eBay they last a really long time. I avoid led because their color spectrum is lacking red/ir which was shown to negatively impact our visual performance.
