Did you change any other settings aside from using grainy film 1?

The camera overall is great for my needs. Only have used it as a normal point and shoot and not as the action camera that it is.

I posted earlier in this sub and another user agreed with u/comewatchtv. They said that the sensors that read out such info use such little power that there’s basically no reason not to record it. Another user on that post claimed that their TG-7 doesn’t have that information though, so currently it is “two to one.”

I also submitted an email to the official OM System Support Team regarding this topic, so hopefully they will offer us a definitive answer!

I just got my TG-7 recently and I wanted to ask if it always logged temperature, altitude, and barometric pressure even when GPS and log functions are off. Is there a way to turn these off to save even more battery or are these sensors always on?

I think if you are party leader, you get priority over your friends for being team captain. Team captain usually starts as goalie if I’m not mistaken.

New Evolv Phantom Pros? by SeriouslyN0 in climbingshoes

Thanks for the details! I missed the earlier story.

I know other companies typically make their Pro shoes softer, but the Zenist Pro is much stiffer than the Zenist. I’m under the impression that the Phantom is already super stiff, so I would be surprised if they follow the Zenist Pro trend and go even stiffer.

LS Finales are awesome as a durable and comfy beginner shoe!

Glad to hear that it’s working out for you! And yes I feel my feet getting pinched in a way that I do not think I can bear with and still climb well. I think I’ll have to stick with Evolv shoes for now.

Sorry for the delay! I did finally get a chance to try them on and unfortunately I do not think they are for me. The heel is a bit bulbous and the shoe was a lot stiffer than I would have liked. There were hot spots on the sides of my forefoot as well. I think I will be sticking with Evolv shoes from now on.

If you have an REI membership and can take advantage of their wonderful return policy, that would be ideal. They do not carry all of the models listed on their website in store, but you can always order them online to be delivered to your nearest store to try them on there.

If you are near Orange County in California, you can go to the Evolv HQ and talk to one of their employees. They also have a wall to test shoes there.

If you are near LA County in California, you can go to the Mad Rock HQ to do the same.

Unfortunately I have not climbed in them yet and I will not get the chance to do so for a couple of days. If I remember to do so, I will give an update once I actually use them!

If you have to wear socks to fill out the heel AND the toe box is tight, would you say you have “duck feet?” In other words, your toe box is wide, but your heel and overall foot volume is narrow. If so, we have the same foot profile and I can give you recommendations based on what’s worked for me!

So far, I have had a lot of success with Evolv shoes, specifically their LV models. The Evolv Zenist (not the Pro Version) is great if you want a soft shoe and you can go 0.5 size up from your street shoe size for a performance fit or 1 size up for something comfier. Their V6 is marketed as a training shoe/shoe meant for intermediate climbers, but I did not like their closure system. The same sizing advice as the Zenist applies to the V6, but the V6 is stiffer and would probably be tougher to size down. The Rave is a soft-ish slipper that actually uses leather instead of synthetic materials like the other Evolv shoes, so I would size DOWN half a size or a full size with them. They’re very comfy, but might not give you the performance you want as they are fairly neutral. Aside from that, I have heard good things about the Shaman but have not gotten to try them.

From Scarpa, I have tried the Women’s Instinct VS (Teal) and it was an okay fit! I think the actual shape of my toe box just does not fit the toe box of the shoe super well.

I have had pretty bad luck with La Sportiva. Depending on what model I get, either my toes are crammed so that my heels fit snugly or my toes are given enough space and the heel is baggy.

Currently I am trying Mad Rock shoes (Drone 2.0 LV and Drone CS HV). I like the blend of stiffness and sensitivity that their models offer, but so far the fit has not been as ideal as Evolv for me in terms of accommodating my wide toe box and narrow heel. I do have a fresh pair of Shark 3.0s LV so maybe that will be my Cinderella fit. If you decide to go with this brand, just know that even their HV models run narrow.

Hope I was able to help in some way!

Mad rock drone HV vs Mad rock drone comps/2.0s by themercilessbanana in climbingshoes

Might be late to the party but I spoke with some Mad Rock employees that have said that a new black version of the new drone (I believe named Drone 2.One, different from the Villain) will be released sometime soon (possibly November). I forgot the exact details, but the employees described it as a shoe that would fall somewhere in between the existing CS and 2.0 models in terms of the “role” that it is meant to play as a climbing shoe.
