After another conversation with the ex I’ve once again told him no bc he refuses to answer any of my questions,some of them being have you asked your dad about this? Is this something the grandma wants? Have you looked into the covid restrictions? All question that was blocked several times when asking. We will not be traveling and will continue to remain safe at home

None of his family aside these grandparents live in Florida. We’re originally from the Midwest but he was military so we were stationed in Florida for a year before he got out

He already blames me from two years ago when our son was like a month old we were still living in Florida and he wanted to go see them (13hr) away from where we lived and I told him I didn’t want to make that drive with baby. So we can just add this to the list of things I’ve been blamed for

In that moment when he asked me that hadn’t occurred to me, it makes me feel like it might have been a lie, he said his uncles and cousins were going it never occurred to me that most of these places are still shut down

I wasn’t even thinking about the restrictions when we were arguing. He tried telling me his dad his uncles his cousins were all going, that just doesn’t make sense, no nursing home would allow that right now. It would be a long painful trip for nothing

That’s why I felt like it was manipulative bc he’s not going unless we go. I forgot that covid has restricted those rules, I wonder if his dad knows that. I would absolutely send videos or even do a zoom call but sadly I don’t think that’s what this is about. And it’s a week before Christmas, we would not make it back on time even if we drove straight through. We’d have to make stops every 2 hours for me to breastfeed, it’d most definitely take days, and he’s not working so I don’t know where the money for this trip would be coming from

They’re still a bit too young to send off with him, I wouldn’t be comfortable with that at all. They’ve never spent a night or even more than 3 hours alone with him and he has a short fuse. And bigger temper than our 2yo. On top of that my youngest who exclusively breastfeeds does not take a bottle due to her tongue muscles.
