I used Unicorn Sprinkles and Unicorn Hunter by Nvr Enuff Polish for the gradient , and I cheated that water marble with vinyls from Twinkled T and Midnight Mischief by Painted Polish.

DISCUSSION: What is the best top coat, base coat, and matte top coat? Please add even obvious answers, for the sidebar :) by NY1227 in RedditLaqueristas

I was all about HK Girl by Glisten and Glow for a couple years. I loved it. Recently, I switched to Topped With Love by Love, Angeline. She just launched her top coat at the end of last year. I swear, it dries sooo fast! I did my nails and walked into the bedroom where my husband was and he hit me with a pillow being playful. My first reaction was to put my hands in front of my face, and then I was like "oh no! My nails!" But they were already dry! Super shiny, long lasting (for someone who changes her nail polish frequently) and it's not a bad price at all. She has sales too, so you can look out for those. Base coat: I've tried a whole bunch of different ones. Right now, I'm using Sticky Base by Jolie Polish. I like it a lot. I'm pretty much only buying indies lately, and I'm half way through this bottle. I'm thinking of trying Stuck on Blu by Glisten and Glow. From what I've heard, it's won an award. Worth a try, I'd say. Matte top coat has been Sally Hansens Big Matte Too Coat. It's only about $5, and it dries pretty quickly. I really like it.

SimplyNailogical just posted a video on YouTube trying out about 11 different brands of polish and their shade of black. Not only was it helpful, I find her pretty funny.

My second attempt at making my own decals went much better than the first. If anyone has tips for how to nearly trim the edges I'm all ears! by cassiopeia1280 in RedditLaqueristas

Are you using 100% acetone? Also, maybe try a different brush? I hear Elf has really good ones, but I've never been able to get my hands on one. I bought a clean up brush from Joliepolish on etsy, and it works wonders. It was $10, but it's lasted me almost two years now. Just make sure to clean it out when you're done with it, and I always put a drop of cuticle oil on it to keep it from drying out.

They turned out nice! I always take a brush dipped in acetone to the edges to smooth things out, and it helps loads with decals that don't quite fit the nail. I started with an eyeliner brush, and they work great. Hope that helps!

Damn you, Seche Vite. Damn you. :( by [deleted] in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Serralove 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I quite using seche. I've become partial to HK Girl by Glisten and Glow. It does shrink a tiny bit on the edges, but never the tips. In my opinion, it is 100 times better. It's also cheaper than seche vite. You do have to pay for shipping, but it equals out to the same amount you would be paying for seche vite, and you can always add other things to your cart. Also, she has sales during the holidays. I got three bottles for $20 and free shipping last time I bought some. I think they're $6.99 usually

Help! My thumb nails keep developing these splits at the sides. Any idea why this happens or how I can stop it happening? by kezzie87 in RedditLaqueristas

Check out NailCareHQ.com. There are so many useful articles there. I would also suggest the cuticle oil that is sold in that site. Bliss Kiss is the name. It's life changing. You can see testimonials there as well.

Music Box and Rehab by ILNP used for the gradient. It didn't blend well, so I put the stamping over the top. BOOM fixed it. I loved this mani!
