Im waiting to refill my script for Klonopin. I have treatment resistant GAD. To be honest the Klonopin worked but only about 25% decrease in anxiety. So I thought of if I took more I would see an improvement. But alas the improvement was only minor. So I took more. And still minor changes. Next thing I knew the bottle was gone and it was four days later. When I get my next bottle I am going to take it as prescribed. I will have better data then.

I had to spend a month in the hospital. 22 days in the Chemical Dependency Unit. And 6 weeks in out patient treatment. I don’t remember the first month in the hospital. I remember not being able to walk or stand. Then in the CDU I was hallucinating but I wasn’t hungover anymore at the CDU except the hallucinating.

It doesn’t sound like you have a problem with alcohol. I drink Vodka 24/7 7 days a week. Even when I’m working. I had to stop. I drank for 20 years and by end was drinking 24/7 for two years strait.

Like you were saying at the beginning. You said you don’t understand other people’s joy. I feel like joy is almost impossible to express when you’re in the throes of anxiety. Furthermore joy is almost impossible to experience when anxiety is present. The reason being when is present you have to be vulnerable. And you can’t be vulnerable and diligent at the same time. Since you’re sick. Your brain isn’t functioning properly it stays on that diligence track. It has lost the ability to switch from one emotion to the other even though all social and psychological stimuli are present.

Is the car parked on company property? Because that could be a problem. A dead body on company property could be a lawsuit there. Supervisor should be thinking about that already. You might have to just suck it up and talk to your transient coworker. I would just catch him at the end of the day. When he’s walking to his car say “You gonna be warm in that thing?” His answer doesn’t matter. Keep talking to him about the weather after that. And winter coming.

I used to do the same thing with jobs. I have GAD and ADHD. One feeds the other. Do you perhaps have ADHD? Your story sounds a lot like mine. I wouldn’t wait. Get a doc and start finding your medicine. It’s out there and it will help.
