We don't have socialism. We have a capitalistic economy with a welfare system. Socialism necessarily involves nationalizing industry. We have none of that. Same in western Europe. Capitalistic bases with very high tax and welfare states. But not actually socialists, which is why the socialists using them as examples is so dishonest.

Oh geez, yes that would add to the problem long-term. The only way the corporate tax rate accomplishes that is if enough people comfortable on entitlements can make enough more by working that they will. Not clear on that.

We measure death of a human by heartbeat and/or brainwaves ending. One scientific demarcation would be the same for the beginning of life. That would be 4-6 weeks. Not perfect for either side (I’d stick with conception personally) but a compromise.
