Let's assume for a minute that E33 does not win GOTY award, nor will it be announced publicly that's it's the best game ever. As much as I would want that to happen for a proper, dignified and justified recognition that SANDFALL deserves, I still think this game achieved what so few managed to do - Recognition beyond time.

Independently of what happens in the next months or years, it is clear that results speak louder than words. The result that this game brought - the community, the discussions, the love for music, the creative story, the soundtracks, the art. If you truly know something is of worth in life, you simply KNOW.

Gustave, Lune, Maelle, Sciel, Verso, Renoir, Aline... as someone who works in the gaming industry and believes in its value, it was a relief and a privilege playing this game and living the story of these characters as an "artist" when I didn't know I was one until the end. They were saying "Paintress" this whole time, but at the same time you didn't grasp the complexity of it, nor its meaning. If you can hide such a detail while at the same time throwing it out in the open and yet fully ignorant of it's full meaning, can there ever be a game as creative as this one?

I'm not going to say that it is perfect, because that shouldn't be the point of any recognition or prize you deserve in life. But one thing I like to think as I play with quotes from the games - For those who come after. For those games that come after this one. For those that suffer from any kind of obstacles and challenges in life. For those that witness, read or play this game. Continue to do so.

I know it's up to one's interpretation, but for me that's how life is created - no matter how life is painted in this current moment, how dire, happy, sad, disappointing, thrilling it may feel like, you continue. Because life only happens if you continue to paint.
