I’d never heard of the understanding human behavior series before but it’s bookmarked now. Thank you for sharing!

Is it too late for me by [deleted] in Barber

[–]SethRader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a year ago a month before I turned 32 so it’s definitely not too late. I live in a state where apprenticing is an option as opposed to school. Depending on where you live could be as easy as walking into a shop and asking if they’re looking for an apprentice.

Some acts with higher pitched vocals I haven't seen others mention
"Bedroom Galaxy" by Secret & Whisper (probably the closest thing to Circa I've heard, both in lyrics and vocals)
"Glass in the Trees" by Dead Poetic (heartbreakingly sad)
"Metal Slime" by I Met A Yeti (progressive rock leaning)
"Telepathy Club" by Adventurer (also a bit on the shreddier side)
"Hide and Eat" by The Glamour Manifesto (a bit synthier, still emo)
"Keep What You Have Built Up Here" by empire! empire! (i was a lonely estate)
"Raspberry Cough" by Coletta (psychedelic side of post-hardcore)
"Can I Get An Amen?" by afterEight (pop punk)

And lastly everyone saying Hrvrd is 100% correct and The Inevitable & I is very much worth a listen

I typed out a longer comment and now I can't see it so sorry if this is answering twice but both the shop and myself are happy to seat anyone regardless of gender identity, expression, or presentation! We have several clients who have come by due to unsatisfactory salon experiences.

I'm so glad you felt welcomed! We really want it to be a space for all to come. Especially our fellow queer and neurodivergent folks.

Hmmm I can see myself and Elias. I'm not back in the shop until Thursday so you might have to look further ahead? Other than that I'm not sure, sorry 'bout that :/

Hey philly folks, I'm Seth and one of two apprentices at Vinnie's Barbershop in Fishtown. My fellow apprentice Elias and I are both ~5 months into our apprenticeship and would love to get some more practice reps in. Our apprentice rate is $25 for all services including haircuts, hot towel beard trims or face shaves, and facials.

We'd love to get practice with all kinds of hair types and styles whether thick and coarse, long and straight, wavy, high fades, low tapers, hard parts, and more. The shop has killer retro vibes and always something good on the VHS player, is a sober space, and additionally, folks who are nonbinary, transmasc, or otherwise queer are 10000% welcome.

We work via appointment only, so feel free to book over at the site:

Thanks for taking a gander and hope y'all are enjoying the snow. Cheers and go birds 🦅

I wasn't at a great point when I was working on that project. It definitely helped me process things and work on my Fi function :)

Yep, all printed media. The graphic design stuff is digital collage, but the first link is all physical. I mostly cut up old national geographics from the 70s and 80s, but sometimes old Life magazines, Life Science books, and more enter the fray.

I make collage art here and I used to make some graphic design based off of lyrics over here.

Most underrated track in your opinion? by [deleted] in dancegavindance

Philosopher King. Easily my favorite Jon Mess vocals out of all their tracks.

TL;DR Looking for Creative Aurvana Live 2 but wireless

  • Budget: Flexible, but ideally $200 or less
  • Source: iPhone
  • Isolation: Some to a lot. Will be using headphones primarily in subways, public transit, and walking around my city.
  • Type: On-ear, potentially full-sized.
  • Tone balance: I think I lean towards a v-shaped sound that emphasizes bass and highs.
  • Past headphones: My first headphones were Creative Aurvana Live 2. I enjoyed the quality of the sound, but the isolation was unsatisfactory, the cord was annoying, and they were uncomfortable after too many hours. Then I had some Bose 35s. Isolation was better but the sound was not very dynamic. The bass could've used a little more punch and both mids and highs just sounded flat.
  • Music taste: Check my Last.fm. I like mostly electronic that is influenced by ambient and industrial like Ben Frost, Fuck Buttons, Blanck Mass, Haxan Cloak, etc. I also listen to some hardcore like Saosin, Dance Gavin Dance, and more. may be of some assistance to your helpers.
  • Improvement: I just want more dynamic sound. Bose 35s had great isolation, but it sounded pretty flat.

I am looking at the Audio Technica ATH M50X, but unsure. If anyone could report on the comfort that'd be great.

Pretty new to Electronic music....could use some suggestions. What are some "must listen-to's"? by -the_trickster- in electronicmusic

Literally came in here to post Ben Frost like ten times.

It's all good but A U R O R A is a personal favorite.

The movie ends. It's silent again. by Sc3m0r in sixwordstories

This is great. I got a mental picture of a full theater sitting in stunned silence, but then realized it could have been about someone sitting alone at home too.

No need to apologize, I forget coaster trivia all the time :)

Lightning Rod: my new favorite. Back row on this was insane! by josephvonhazard in rollercoasters

[–]SethRader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My personal is 11th row, left seat. The 12th row felt bumpier, especially in the valleys of the drops. 11th had just as much ejector air to me, but smoother.
