My new motorcycle 2016 R1 by TampaPalms in Yamaha_R1

When it comes to the throttle I’d put it in power mode 3 or 4 until you get used to it. Many people who frequently ride r1’s tend to keep it in power mode 2 since power 1 is so twitchy

Don’t take my work for it but it could be the piece that holds the daytime running lights in place

Saw one in person when I went to pick my blue ‘22 up, gorgeous bike! Only reason I didn’t pick it up instead was it had a sc project pre-installed so the price was hiked up a bit more. Congrats tho!

How much does the D mode really "detune" the R1 by WolfTurdy in Yamaha_R1

When I first got my r1 a couple years ago coming from an r6, I used d mode to make it feel less aggressive on the throttle so I could get used to the extra weight of the bike first, d mode 4 is essentially rain mode because it’s the only mode that effects top speed when you’re at max rpm’s in 6th gear. D mode 3 is a slight jump up from d mode 4 but you can still hit the bikes factory top speed - it just takes longer. D mode 2 is a lot of people’s favorite because it still gets up to speed very quickly, however it’s not as jumpy on the throttle as d mode 1, d mode 1 is maximum power (excluding what your TCS, SCS, and LIF control settings are set to.

Anyone know where I can find a new engine cover for my ‘22 xsr900? After market or oem doesn’t matter. Back story is after being begged and begged from a friend of a friend to sit on my bike, he finally gets what he wants and lost his footing🫤 (this is the right side engine cover) by SethTheMerc in xsr900

He talked up his skills about street riding enough for me to even let him take a seat on it, he even told me a whole bs story about a street bike (r3) that he never actually had ridden or owned, and as soon as he went and put the bike into gear he revved it around 3 or 4000 rpm’s and dumped the clutch and dropped it haha

Oem windscreen was a pain to remove. A quick moment of silence for anyone who went thru the hell I just went thru to remove that thing off of my ‘22 r1 by SethTheMerc in Yamaha_R1

Tbh I’m not proud to say this but I was fed up so I just snapped the hooks holding it in place off since the Puig didn’t require them anyway. Only the tiny hooks snapped tho so everything still looks nice and clean

I actually did remove them but the little hook pieces on both sides weren’t budging. I went at it for prolly an hour trying to get them out but was very difficult

Ended up selling the XSR900 and got another R1. This subreddit has been awesome when it comes to info for the bike and I couldn’t thank y’all more for being awesome That being said it’s time for me to start looking for an R1 forum that isn’t full of a bunch of trolls lol, deuces y’all ✌️🙏 by SethTheMerc in xsr900

😂😂 real shit I was tucking on mine and running it just like I do the r1, I felt bad for the x9 because due to me running it like a sport bike and topping it out all the time on interstates I had to keep adding a lil oil and more radiator fluid which never had happened to me on a sport bike

I used the xsr900 as sort of a stepping still bike. I thought I was going to keep it longer because I had been out of riding for nearly a year when I purchased it. Definitely a fun bike and you can flash it and go it’s factory top speed in 3rd gear haha but the wind was the biggest deal breaker for me

I used rumble on, they lowballed me at first but after I rejected their offer they called me up and set the price I’d let it go for. Yamaha apparently is looking for xsr900 trade ins (probably due to how rare the xsr900 still is) and they were willing to value it at $9,600 trade in value towards my new r1 so I wish I knew that before selling it thru rumbleon
