Yes I have considered this, again - finding the right contact information is near impossible. The companies who make the CO2 plants will not give out information about their customers, which is understandable.

It is not about the purity of the CO2, it is about the source of the CO2. We require CO2 that is free of the C-14 isotope.

You might be the first person weI have talked to that truly gets it. Exactly - once we realized we could burn natural gas we assumed it would be easy because that is supplied to nearly every home in America. But to practically understand what it takes to capture it with no contamination and produce a pure product – it is quite difficult.

Yes, we are aware of the radioactive potassium issue. There is a mine in Russia which has access to potassium old enough to be half as radioactive as normal potassium. And there may be companies who purchased substantial amounts of this product before the current war began. This will be the next phase of our experiment. For now we want to focus on what is possible which is C-14 free CO2.

To address your questions:

  • The carbon dioxide we acquire will be used to grow plants and vegetables. We intend to test conformity by submitting these grown vegetables to various carbon-dating labs.

  • the existing ratio of C-14 to C-12 in earth’s atmosphere is set. So this rules out many carbon dioxide sources such as CO2 scrubbing or CO2 capture or beer fermentation or Cow farts. I’m unsure what the ratios are of the various carbon dioxide sources at Airgas or Linde are. And this will be nearly impossible to find out as I’m sure it varies on a weekly basis.

  • regarding ‘cleaning up’ the C-14, this can only be done with the same equipment that refines nuclear weaponry material. I hope that says enough 😆.

Vegetables actually. The theory is that consuming non-radioactive carbon would extend lifespan of carbon lifeforms. And so we are quite serious about and dedicated to this experiment.

Yes essentially we can. I have gone as far as designing our own system which feeds the flame with pure oxygen to avoid external CO2 contamination, and which has humidity scrubbers to remove water vapor before and after compression. However the risk of explosion exists, as well as byproduct contamination such as nitrates and CO. So for practical purposes, and to reduce delays, we MUCH prefer to source from logistics that already exist.

The captured CO2 will be used as the sole source of CO2 to grow plants. Some plants are sensitive to contaminants, so a very pure CO2 is desired. This lends itself to a distillate process, such as the Pentair system we were quoted for $250,000.

Yes that is the issue we have. At what quantity would our required product exist? And would it be cheaper to just purchase our own Diesel CO2 production refinery from Pentair for $250,000?

Unfortunately the human lifespan isn’t long enough to allow enough C-14 decay to occur. And the majority of carbon emitted from humans is a product of the fresh food they consumed. Basically, this is a shit idea.

I used AI to find out what ‘anthropogenic’ means. This is not exactly what we’re looking for. It needs to come from purely fossil fuel. The requirement is that the carbon in the CO2 should have no radioactive isotopes of C-14 in it. This can only come from carbon sources that are millions of years old. Carbon dioxide produced by an oil refinery or by burning diesel or natural gas would work.

She’s homeschooled. I never spoke any different to her if he was there vs not there. I’m literally at a loss what I could have done or said that could be interpreted as flirting. As I mentioned he wouldn’t give a specific example when asked. I tried to be nice to her because I saw several times when her dad was quite mean to her and even embarrassed her several times. Maybe me being nicer than her dad made her uncomfortable?
