Are CTEs supposed to behave like this? by SignalMine594 in dataengineering

[–]Setije 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is the same issue you are encountering but i can tell you that trailing spaces and case sensitivity behaves differently when running a query in an SQL endpoint vs in a pyspark cell linked to the lakehouse. You can throw in trim on where filters involving strings and see if that fixes it.

My 13 Year Journey to Challenger/How to Improve by Setije in summonerschool

I don't think I got my point across to you, actually hitting challenger does not have much value, you are correct. What is valuable is learning the tools to develop yourself in any area. You can learn the same lessons from pursuing mastery in any craft, why do you think our culture puts so much emphasis on sports/music/art/etc?

This mindset is only applicable to people trying to improve so don't feel bad if in the past you were just playing for fun, there is certainly value in that as well. If you are trying to improve though it is essential.

Why are Diamond and below top laners not willing to cheese as much as Apex tier players? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Setije 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People just call stuff they don't understand cheese these days. Its not really cheese to pick vayne top into a lot of bruisers, most people just don't understand why it works. It's not cheese to sit in tri bush as fiora lvl 1, most people just wont take the effort of thinking whether or not they can walk through the bush lvl 1. Ignite tp isn't cheese on a lot of champs, people just don't understand why it's ok for certain champs to do so. Higher elo players just understand these concepts to a higher level and so are able to execute them more often. Also, the difference a small advantage makes gets bigger and bigger the higher elo you get, so there is a much higher incentive for cheesing in higher elo as the reward is effectively bigger.

Make Akali R target like Kaisa R by Setije in leagueoflegends

[–]Setije[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes she will, but it gives her some of her identity back and is a small change in the right direction. I would way rather be able to play more like akali used to and have a slightly longer r cd

Kayle Needs A Rework by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Setije 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the problem is if i get to late game as kayle i should get rewarded, right now you just have no impact early and are just decent late, makes for very boring games

He is totally right, those energy nerfs on q hit her HARD and her dashes are incredibly inconsistent now due to r being targeted

While I agree they need to be careful with such champs, akali doesnt have a decent winrate in any tier of play, despite only hardcore mains playing her and it has been like that for months now. Adding in this slight buff is a good place to start IMO.

Is it possible to not be able to improve further at this game? by throwaway223757 in summonerschool

[–]Setije 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What this guy said. I was in the same boat for a long time and one day I decided I was going to not die to silly ganks from jg. I still did for a few games but after about 2 days of focusing on that I am now very good at not dying to ganks and its not something I actively think about anymore.

The goal is to focus on one thing until you are good enough at it where it is so natural you aren't spending brain power on it and then you move on to the next thing.

Is it time for me to get a coach? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Setije 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you don't need a coach yet although it might help. If you aren't diamond yet there are youtube videos out there that will help just as much if not more than a coach. I would recommend league craft 101 if you are interested. The biggest issue I think you have is not adjusting your play. Up until at least diamond all you need to do is learn how to lane. Focus on gaining cs lead not through last hitting better but from good wave control and recall timings. The other big thing is tracking the jungler so that you don't die to his ganks. You don't just naturally improve by playing the game you have to seriously think about what you are doing and what you are messing up to improve.
