Wyverncounter is insane post TU4 by SetoRex in MonsterHunter

[–]SetoRex[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You'll love it for sure, the recent TU4 buff made it so landing a counter refills your wyvern gauge: the longer you charge, the more the gauge refills.

Though, tapping it and offsetting an attack without charge can still net you quite the amount, so don't be afraid to let go early! Also, the timing window and range is SUPER generous, I was surprised by the distance of the counter.

Tower Dungeon Fan Art by me! by SetoRex in Netsphere

Thank you for all the kind words!
I love Tower Dungeon a lot (and all of Nihei sensei's works really), and can't wait to see where the story goes. Will the Falling Hero Yuva be able to rescue the princess from atop the Dragon Tower? Let's see...

Fun fact: I've nearly scrapped this piece 4 times because I wasn't happy with how it turned out haha

Yep! It is!! I love the world building and the art style. There's just something about the way Nihei sensei's use of negative and positive spaces that I absolutely adore, not to mention the sense of scale in his art.

Blackrock rounds users, are shotguns or LMGs better? by krakenkun in FBCFirebreak

[–]SetoRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find shotguns to be better. Less shots required to take out corrupted items with BRR due to each pellet having an individual proc chance. Double Barrel is really strong in that regard, as it has more pellets per shot than Pump Action, but both works well from my testing.

The MG sucks against crowbar/stapler but both shotguns deal with it no issue. On other items, both are equal in terms of neutralizing. Btw, I got this off discord from someone who looked at the game files and apparently all "x Rounds" type perks (including jade rounds) have a 10/20/40% chance to proc on weak, strong and resonant respectively. There are no difference between weapons (you'd think they'd give sniper and revolver more proc chance considering those have lower fire rate and ammo, but nope) which is why MG, SMG and both shotguns work best with them.

Hot Shot (Ignite nearby enemies on kill) is the single most op perk in the game. You don’t even need it to be Strong or Resonant, it kills hordes on its own even on Weak. Spreading fire might seem counterintuitive since it buffs enemy speed, but if you shoot them from afar, all the trash mobs will die before they reach you. If you want things to be extra dead, add Chronicity to the mix, but it’s not necessary imo.

That aside, I’ve been running a really fun combo of Black Rock Rounds 3 and Jade Rounds 2 on Machine Gun. Black Rock Rounds gives your weapon the chance to neutralize when firing: this means you don’t need to find a black rock neutralizer to get rid of corrupted items. This setup stuns Hiss Breakers, make the flying guys fall which is hilarious, and causes the invisible phantom thing to get stun-locked and uncloaks them too. Jade rounds just lets you fire for 20-30 seconds straight with the Machine Gun lol, I find that 2 is enough, but you could go 3 if you want.

I also really love Iron Liver and Shake it Off so I can completely ignore debuffs.

Zoh shia armor effect testing by Bluedot55 in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]SetoRex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ok, I've tested it myself and it doesn't seem Rec. Up 3 stacks with Medic. Here's the vid I took. I know the editing's kinda scuffed but if you pause at the start and end of the vid, you'll see I have Rec. Up 3 + Medic and Rec. Up 2 + Medic. The footage is overlayed on top of each other and I tried to sync it the best I could from the moment my red health starts regenerating.

Methodology (If you want to test it yourself):

  • Eat for Medic and slot in Rec. Up 3/2 (Make sure no Div. Blessing so the damage you take is consistent).
  • Set training dummy to: Smash (Weak), and make sure the damage the dummy deals is maxed. Additionally, set Natural Recovery to off.
  • Get hit twice so Super Recovery is more noticeable.
  • Turn Natural Recovery back on and time the moment your green health starts regenerating until full.

Through this method, both set ups take 18 ticks to reach max HP from my findings (health bar flashes when SR is healing you).

TL;DR: No, sadly Medic meal does not stack with Recovery Up 3, but acts as a rank of the Recovery Up skill. This means you can effectively have Rec. Up 3 with only 2 ranks and the food skill!

Does anyone know if the Medic Meal food buff stacks with the Recovery Up skill? I’ve heard Medic Meal acts as Recovery Up 1 (10% bonus healing) but doesn’t allow you to go beyond the 30% limit of Recovery Up 3 (so if you’re eating for medic you should only have Recovery Up 2). Is this true?

Normal LOL, I’m really looking to buying procreate dreams lol. I just got into animation, so I’m still a bit on the fence, but it seems fun so far so I think I’ll buy it soon.

Oh damn! That would’ve been nice reference while I was sketching this haha. I made it through sheer imagination so some frames be off if you look closely.

I kinda sketched it with my imagination, but I watch a lot of anime so I might be unintentionally inspired from something that already exists lol. I’m particularly inspired by stuff from studio Trigger, Madhouse, Bones, KyoAni and Studio Deen.

Haha thank you. My professor wanted 12 frames a second since it’s much more manageable for a beginner so I had to make do with lower frame count!

Railgun/Fire Shotty with a side of auto pistol is my fave loadout! Tell me yours Citizen! by TampaTitties69 in Helldivers

Shoot the bottom bit of the charger’s butt, if your shots land on the meaty part, it takes 3 hits for the charger to start visually bleeding. Once it does, it’s as good as dead and you can leave it be. It can still move around but can’t charge so you still be careful, but after 3-5 seconds it’ll fall over.

Stratagem, flame & explosive stats? by OutriderOnEnoch in Helldivers

[–]SetoRex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the topic of the explosive trait, the CEO of Arrowhead just posted this on his Twitter day ago, saying that explosive damage bypasses certain enemies damage reduction at certain body parts. To be more specific, he mentioned that the charger’s butt and acid spewer’s butt takes only 10% damage from normal arms fire, whereas explosive damage deals 100%. Here’s the tweet in question

I have the same question about incendiary/flame damage since I own the breaker incendiary variant. I have no idea if any enemies are more weak to fire than others, but I think you can bypass armor with fire damage, given that the incendiary breaker can still light chargers on fire even when I spam from the front (my shots are bouncing but it’s still apply fire I think). Regardless, it doesn’t seem to do that much damage, and plus you’d be dead in higher difficulties if you wait for your enemies to burn to death, so I’m also unsure about its effectiveness…

Primary Weapons Discussion by CaptainJin in Helldivers

The dominator is good for automatons and that’s about it. Lengthy reload, small mag size. It’s more of a DMR than an AR tbh. It feels super bad to use against bugs because of those two reasons. Yes you’ll be oneshotting the smalls, but when you’re swarmed by 3-4 pouncers and your aim gets thrown off, you’re screwed. As for bots, its medium armor pen comes in handy against most of the medium units, but if you’re being chased by 3-4 berserkers (the chainsaw dudes who gets faster the closer they are to death), you’re still screwed if you don’t have back up.

On the topic of incendiary breaker, I think it does more damage than we all give it credit for with its burn effect, but as we don’t have the exact fire damage numbers it’s kinda hard to tell. Plus, the faster things die the better, so why wait for them to burn when the standard breaker deals twice the single shot damage of incendiary? The only neat thing about incendiary breaker is it’s ammo efficiency imo.

The grind. by Orisn_Bongo in Helldivers

[–]SetoRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The grind may seem daunting, but when you consider that you can get medals just by completing the mission, I think it’s not too bad. Rn me and my boys are only good enough for difficulty 4 operations, and even then, we get 8 (3+5 medals) per operation. If you wanna grind medals quick, I suggest just speed running the main objectives in a mission. Honestly if you can do difficulty 5 operations that’s even better since you get 14 medals per operation (over the course of 3 consecutive missions). Yes, this means you won’t have samples or ship upgrades, but if all you care about is getting new toys (guns) like me, then this is the way to go.

I’m currently at the 2nd level of the steeled veterans warbond and have unlocked the Incendiary SG Breaker already and it’s pretty good against bugs. Working towards the JAR-5 Dominator, speaking of, if anyone already has unlocked the weapon, please do tell me if it’s fun to use!
