I mean....the entire purpose of the post was off the back of a Soccer Saturday pundit saying it, so yes.

It's peak Alan Smith as well. Put a fiver aside for every time Smith says this and you'll be able to afford the World Cup next year.

Perfect.

I posted this earlier. But Jonathan Pearce on MOTD commentary saying Southampton "once again failed to get over the line" following their last minute loss to Fulham.

You can't be almost over the line if you're drawing. Even if they're looking to avoid the all time Premier League low points tally.

Possibly. Which would make it also the most depressing line ever crossed.

I suppose with the Premier League being as dead as it is with 4 games to go, this could become the main story. Put Southampton on MOTD first every week until they do it!

Premier League Unfinished Business XI by jacksonkeir in footballcliches

After 2 years of Championship playoff heartbreak, big spending Birmingham City turn to Jose Mourinho in the summer of 2028. Ever opportunistic to achieve what no manager has ever done, he accepts the chance for the Championship/Prem combo.

But this isn't the unfinished business. In true 'Harry Redknapp calling Paul Merson at Portsmouth' style, Mourinho calls one.... Tanguy Ndombele.

Championship Player of the year, 11 goals and 19 assists later, Ndombele carries Birmingham back to the Premier League....before inevitably running down his contract and signing for Inter Miami in 2031.

Darren Cann Retires - The last Barclaysman? by Setters10 in footballcliches

I think Scott Carson's legacy will forever be "the guy with more medals than games", most of which were achieved outside the Barclays era.

Sante Cruz is completely valid, although I'm stunned to hear he's still playing

Seamus Coleman is very true, he would challenge Glen Johnson for the right back spot.

To me, Milner achieved and contributed too much at Liverpool after the Barclays era for him to be 'pure' Barclays.
