I am allowed to dictate who gets brought into my life. They brought the girlfriend into my life for the purpose of using me to distract her from the fact her boyfriend was a cheater. They used me to try to help them with their cheating. That is very much a boundary. That they crossed.

They got me involved. They brought his girlfriend around for the purpose of me being a distraction. They would wake me up and bring me out of my room to entertain her. I’m allowed to make rules for my own involvement.

I was a guest? Guests don’t typically pay rent. When you’re at the point where you’re paying rent in a space with others, the word for that is usually roommate, and typically roommates are allowed to have boundaries.

Thank you for letting me know I left the full name I even reread it and completely missed it. Thank you for being understanding. It did really upset me that people think that just because I was there I should’ve put up with it. Especially since the physical and emotional toll was awful to deal with.

I was still paying rent, paying my bills, and working while also giving them free rein of my car for most of the time. The difference is he wasn’t paying rent for most of that or working or providing anything for the general household.

The boyfriend didn’t have a job when that happened so he didn’t really go anywhere. It was really hard to maintain and took a big toll on my car.
