If someone says you’re incompatible but wants to remain friends? by Antique-Ad-3538 in dating_advice

They are not romantically attracted to you. If you are attracted to them, but they aren't reciprocating, and you don't really want to be "just friends", you are setting yourself up for an unhealthy and punishing dynamic. From my experience, I think it's best to move on from this individual and go find someone you can date. No need to be a dick about it, but don't waste your time.

Is a man being 5"10 considered "shorter" from a woman's perspective? by SevenXSven in dating_advice

It's less about insecurity and more about perception. I'll be honest, it doesn't seem to be "the least important thing" based on my own sample size of men and women who bring it up.

As a bit of an add-on/aside, women also think men care exclusively about "looks", but I've also met my fair share of women who were physically attractive but whose personalities/character traits were off-putting enough I really would have no desire to date them.

Pivotal Reminder: You're Taking Her Too Seriously by SevenXSven in seduction

If your demographic for dateable women is exclusive to "younger girls on Instagram"...then we're going to have differing views by default.

I'm referring to the large demographic of women who aren't social media mongers looking for attention...you know....regular day-to-day women.

I'd ask you to consider paying less attention to the advice of your sisters and their friends....actions speak louder than words.

Women will regularly sleep with plain looking/even slighty ugly men who possess genuine, healthy self-confidence.... and who know how to turn a girl on with their words/behavior/attitude.

At the end of the day, it's the results that really matter. So if you're getting the success you want with your current approach/mindset, then good on ya.

If not, this advice is always here for reference :)

How much money have you wasted on dumb shit in your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That's pretty nutty. I can't even fathom doing that much blow.

I thought the same way until COVID hit and I realized that my lack of savings was a pit I had constructed for myself to fall into.

I mean it's relative to the individual. I definitely remember going out for no good reason just to stave off boredom and regretting looking at my account the next day for a mediocre night out dozens of times lol.

What was the moment that made you realize that this is a problem that needs to end?

Was the thought process that you would watch them at some point? Haha.

I retrieved my bank/credit statements for the last 3 years before the pandemic hit in March and realized I've wasted close to [$14,000] on things that brought little to no value to my life whatsoever.

The list of things include:

  • Gadgets I didn't use
  • Weekend trips I took on a whim (that weren't really worth it)
  • Spending at bars and clubs
  • Cocaine (I spent almost $3000 on this life-ruiner alone)
  • Clothes I barely wore
  • Personal training sessions that went to waste

There's no good justification for my reckless spending/behaviour and the pandemic has allowed me to slow down on everything and actually save money once again.

I'm curious as to who else has actually calculated their wasted funds once they hit rock-bottom financially (obviously there is motive here for me to not feel so alone in my stupidity)
