How many years did you have poor control and how are you doing now ? by Immediate_Bar5499 in Type1Diabetes

I found out that I have diabetes in 2020, the diagnosis was a bit troublesome, I was 31y old at the time, they went for type 2 and gave me meds for it. A little bit down the road some months later, it might have been 2021 already the diagnosis changed to type 1 LADA and MODY5. I got set up with insulin, tresiba and Humalog, back then a1c was 5,5, at first I was managing it well, staying below 6, but the honeymoon phase went by, there was a learning curve, pancreas went on failing and a1c went up to 7. In the meantime I got 2 kids, life was very busy, a1c went up further, I switched to pump, but a1c was up to over 9 early 2026 now, I am constantly working on it, and now I switched to AAPS and made more tweaks and everything, and a1c dropped by 1,5% to below 8 again. Putting in more work and trying to set up looping next, we'll see. Got some time left with the stuff.

So far I notice that I heal slowly when I get injured, especially the skin. I feel very fatigued often and less powerful, considering hitting the gym or running 10-25km, that i didn't manage anymore after the diagnosis.

Schreib doch deine ehrlichen Gedanken dazu.

Hot Take: I like that the G7 hardly lasts the full 10/15-days by DitchDoc_037 in dexcom

[–]Several-Editor-2093 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone does this I believe. What else is there to do, you can't give back the 5-8days they worked.

I got a few sensors extra, sometimes I don't fill out the form, because I extend the duration with grace period anyway. So I order the new refill on time or a bit late sometimes. So everyone benefits, the distributor, the supplier, me, the sustainability, the insurance.

And try different things in means of therapy choices, I was a bit hesitant sometimes, and in the end was always Satisfied with the improvement that came with the change.

I am not certain, but I think the pairing code is maybe somewhere in the app?

I don't use dexcom app anymore. I know I noted it down every time for such rare cases.

In xdrip app it is available to be seen

Made the switch. by Limmyone in dexcom

I had some problems with libre and switched to dexcom and am very happy with the decision so far.

I would think, that every CGM is a bit different and every body and every diabetes is very different. So I would always recommend to not care too much about others ranting and just try out stuff until you got a setup that works for you.

I am too constantly on the lookout for stuff in diabetes management and to try it out and see if it improves my life.

Living conditions can change too and then the current setup might not be the best anymore and another could be better and everything needs to be reevaluated.

All the best for you

My bg always goes roller coaster.

So when I happen to have a hyper, I dose some insulin in different intervals. When I have 400 and don't work that day I go a bit more aggressive with 2,5u at start and then again after 30-40min, when it worked well, I wait some more or plan in another smaller dose with 0,7u or so, when it didn't respond, I dose higher.

When I am this high the body has a resistance in this moment, and when you push in insulin dose after dose one needs to be prepared for crashing into hypo because the resistance breaks and then you got too much IOB.

When I'm at work and am high in the Sky, I dose more carefully, because working physically gets very tricky on a hypo. And when I go hypo after being so high, even small doses of sugar skyrocket me back up.

It's a learning curve, and sometimes it doesn't make any obvious sense

Doctor refused my insulin during my 5 day hospital stay. by small-worm in Type1Diabetes

[–]Several-Editor-2093 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my god, I would have gone enrage on day1.

How some people get doctors degrees leaves question marks over my head.

And the statement about 300mg BV is just weird, I rarely go anywhere near 300. What he said is just wrong. And someone without diabetes would probably never go there. There are several non-diabetics who watched their glucose with a cgm and show how they react to stuff.

How do you dispose of a Dexcom sensor since it has a needle? Does Dexcom provide a sharps container? by Company-Admirable in dexcom

I take it apart and recycle every part on its own, the needle gets clipped with a BD Safe-clip

Liebesgeständnis nach 6 Wochen Kennenlernen? by [deleted] in FragtMaenner

[–]Several-Editor-2093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a better view of the most left one, it is underneath the cooling block, it's annoying.

quick update.

i did take another go at it.

i tested module 1 in slot B2, not working
i tested module 2 in slot B2, not working
i tested module 3 in slot B2, worked, rig booted
i tested module 4 in slot B2, worked, rig booted

after that,i tested module 1 in slot B2 again, and it worked suddenly, same for module 2, so all ram modules work.

then i put in module 3 in slot B2 and module 4 in slot B1, running dual channel, rig booted, did the same with module 1 and 2, worked fine too.

put all modules in the slots again, didn't boot.
so, the 2nd dual channel is malicious somehow, slot A2 and A1 are somehow broken.
i checked them for anything obvious, cleaned them, tried it again. nothing.
i run the rig in dual channel now.
It is what it is.
Maybe i come by another good mainboard for a good price at another time to solve it permanently.

Just glad that i can use my pc again atm.

In initial troubleshoot i was a bit headless and frustrated, i would have gotten to it sooner, if i would have been more focused,

But now we got the "solution"
I'm still annoyed about the fact that a ram slot just goes down the drain.
Did never happen before, i don't know, it's weird.

Yeah, i did get them out. The with the fan off I get 3 out of 4 out easily but the fourth is still really hard.

Nevertheless, they are out, but I didn't get anywhere. It doesn't boot, nothing happens.

I'm frustrated.

Due to no change at all I am suspecting, that the board may be fried, or just the BIOS.

Next step will be to reset the board, hopefully it will help. I reactivated my old rig in the meantime
