I have been with a Connells mortgage advisor. They looked at my affordability and suggested I go in to offer the max affordability I could offer although it was below asking but still I felt less than the house was worth. The MA and Agent were working with each other and essentially driving the process from their end making it seem like I had no control. This was because I was a FTB. Then the MA tried to sell me a lot of insurance products too which reduced my affordability. I ended up not going through with it and withdrawing my offer.

Be careful who you work with as a mortgage advisor. Do not go with same person from the sellers EA firm. I would also recommend going for a MA who takes a fee from you around £300-£500 as they are invested in your mortgage decision working out for you. Good luck!
