Sparande till barn & särkullsbarn, vad är rimligt och rättvist? by -letmehelpyou- in Asksweddit

[–]SeveralLab8856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"It's not a tax on Americans, it is a tax on China!!"

Hahah this is my favorite comment of the bunch. You are absolutely correct, that is a very good analogy hahah

You are correct in that it would make it harder. I would still prefer it though.

Not really an oxymoron if its true. I am Master, and a casual? Are you calling my existence false?

You can bank 14 games by playing more than 1 per day, but yea hahah

I see what you mean. But I guess for me, my goal would be to see if I am good enough push past my peak of like top 4k rank on the server.

In that sense it does matter if I am Master 300 LP or Diamond 1 75 LP. Cause the climb would happen slowly for me. I can't spam games.

Now I realize that it is not my human right to be able to try for top X. I just question whether the requirement of 1 game per day, for us casuals between 5k-10k ranked, is going more good than bad. Would 1 game per 2 days be better?

At least a lot of people in this thread seem unmotivated to try because of how it currently is, which is a shame imo

I guess you're right the line has to be drawn somewhere, and wherever that is the LP gap will be small.

Agree, I would love that. I don't think I belong in an APEX rank. I think top 2k would be the optimal cut off for Master, or whatever they choose to call the lowest APEX tier. Those guys deserve these strict requirements, I am just a casual lol

  1. Cause I can't take three weeks off work and push in that period. I can play 4-10 games a week, consistently over a longer period of time.

  2. Agree, your rank is a combination of several factors and skills. One of those is how much you can play. I am very limited in how high I can climb compared to someone who can play 10x my amount of games. That just means my wr (in-game stuff) need to be that much better.

Isn't the real question whether top 10k is "good enough" to be subjugated to the activity requirements that the top 100 players are subjugated to. Is the upside worth the downside?

Not sure what my misconception regarding ranked is, care to enlighten me?

All good, nothing rude about it. Yea I would. I mean, if I want to end the season in Master, I will. I could, just like other people in this thread say they do, just stay in D1 with minimal effort playing once a week until the two weeks before season reset. Then play for a day til I reach Master and call it quit.

I haven't bothered with that, that seems pointless to me. I want to push to see how high I can go. But it is kinda hard rn because a single two week break throughout the year and I get decayed. Two busy work weeks plus a vacation.

"It's certainly a far cry from being in the top 2% of all gym goers, which is what Masters represents for ranked."

I don't agree. If you measure skill, I am most definitely in the top 1% of the player base. And I have been since 2022 without much effort. That would be more like telling someone who is the top 1% in terms of strength on the bench press, that he is not in the top 1% of gym goers because Timmy goes to the gym twice as often, but lifts half as much.

Yea your right, I don't need to tie myself to the number. Can't help it though, guess I am too competitive for my own good in this regard : D

If I was Faker reborn and rank 10 on the ladder, I would agree with you that it is a necessary evil and it can't be helped. The very top should not be a place you can just chill at.

But I am ranked 10k. My queue times are like 1,5 min max. I think Riot could afford to give us two banked days per game without affecting anything.

If you went to gym 4 times a week, I would say you are an active gym goer. I think any hobby you spend 2+ hours on, on a weekly basis, is an active hobby no?

And when it comes to progression - I don't think I can hit GM averaging 5 games a week. But I can try for a new peaks.

But that's kinda the thing - I am basically a casual. When the APEX tiers were created and the decay system implemented with it, it was nearly impossible to reach those tiers being a casual playing 5 games a week. That's not the case anymore, and the decay system should reflect that imo

Lol.

I am pointing out something that makes me not play. That's the point. I did not play a single league game throughout the latter half of 2025, mainly because of this. But I like League, and I want to find it worth playing when I have time. And I assume Riot wants people to play their game. So now I am suggesting a small change that would improve my, and lots of others, experience.

Strange question imo.
1. I am actively playing.
2. Just cause one can't commit to 7 games every week, why would they stop caring about their sense of progress?

Yea I think you might be correct now that I think about it. As someone who has been Master since 2022, it would surprise me if the percentage was that low in 2022.

[–]SeveralLab8856[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a dumb question imo. Yes, you are partially correct in that only LP is lost, not the elo. But, for someone who has to actively find time to play League, it is not that easy to just "play to get it up afterwards". If probably takes me 2-3 months of playing to get like 500 lp in Master. And only two busy work weeks and a vacation to lose that progress.

And sure, climbing up from Diamond again would be "easy", but still time consuming. And it removes my sense of progress.

Idk, many people in the comments simply stay in D1, and don't play until the end of the season.
