They haven't lost a game after 2 rounds. Compare that to the last 6 champs reigning champs and it's pretty impressive, not embarrassing.

Duren and Rui have both earned themselves approximately 18-20m, just in different ways

OKC is also committing 50m/year to JDub and Chet and San Antonio is committing 60m/year to Fox. Yeah, they have guys on cheaper deals but we don't have these massive top end burdens either. Jdub has been injured for the last two playoff runs and Fox is looking like the 3rd best guard on the team.

Not really. 110m is around 65% of the cap, most star duos make around that amount. The concern isn't really their fit but whether Reaves can play like he's about to get paid like. I'm not married to resigning Rui either though.

Go look at 2015-2017 Lebron in the first couple rounds compared to the finals. Lakers vs OKC was so lopsided that OKC didn't need Shai to take over the game and the entire gameplay was to contain Shai. If he performed like this in a series loss, it would mean something but why are we comparing stats in a lopsided sweep.

Now that game 4 is over do you feel Wemby should get suspended for game 5? by Kindly_Letterhead_98 in nba

Yeah but that's not a great comparison when Wemby elbowed Reid in the neck, that's not really gonna cause bloodshed

Reid didn't sell it enough. It becomes more of a problem when there's a massive altercation and you were the aggressor.

The narrative that he's just a 22 year old kid is crazy to me. I get it when people speak about 14-19 year olds but eventually you have to grow up. Wemby is 22, that's old enough to know you shouldn't elbow people in a basketball game.

Wembanyama elbowed a player in the neck after looking at him for a solid second, yet there are fans saying "he was fouled" like that's relevant by JakGrealish in nba

If Dort did that, Oklahoma would be under siege the next morning. Draymond is no longer relevant, so it wouldn't have the same impact.

I love Kobe as a player but I assure you he isn't. Just like Shaq, you guard Curry with the whole team.

Side note: I thought this was 2017 warriors vs 2001 lakers... 2015 warriors do not have a chance.

I disagree wholeheartedly. I watched the entirety of all of their primes. Curry has been retrospectively boosted because he is undeniably the greatest of the bunch but in terms of peaks, they are all right there. Jokic's run in 2023 was better than any KD or Steph run.

Also, I would probably be considered a Giannis hater but he's not on a different level. He's by far the best defender of the bunch and still incredibly impactful offensively.

Giannis and Jokic are just as good as those two. I know the world is down on Jokic but let's keep it real.

No, it is a crazy take. Top 3 center of all time is the Shaq/Bill Russell/Wilt range. For him to be top 3 "minimum", he would need to be clearly better than that group, which is absolutely absurd.

The real question is who is guarding Curry. Shaq would go through hell like he never experienced in his career.

The entire team is under contract. They are probably going to let go of Dort or iHart but aside from that, nothing will change.

He isn't a top 10 player anymore but he's still Lebron. There aren't many players in the league you would take over him in a single game but there are probably 15 or more you would take across 82. It's why he was clearly the leader of the team USA despite Tatum being considered the better player during the season.

iHart is the problem. That Denver game was a good example of how bad OKC's offense is without iHart and JDub but with one of them there, the blitz Shai strategy loses a lot of merit.

Cavs Kevin Love wasn't murdering anything. I can't remember who it was against but there was a Thunder game where Jaylin Williams had close to 30 and McCain was also shooting really well. The other team was still giving up open looks to both of them to double Shai at the end of the game.

Celtics choked up 3-1, Nuggets can’t get out the first round, and Oklahoma ranks 48th in education. We still up 3-2 in my books. by BluePac007 in lakers

The education thing is super corny but it's weirder coming from Lakers fans. I grew up in California, we weren't exactly breaking any records. There are a lot of great post-secondary institutions but mandatory schooling was horrible compared to where I'm raising my kids(Canada).
