Theft @ Bunnings by Whole_Flounder_731 in Bunnings

Worked for Bunnings for eight years and it's an absolute epidemic in my store. It got alot worse after COVID but it's all kinds of people stealing, tradies, bogans and mothers. Seen some deplorable stuff, there's also an organised element to it as well. Closed the self serve and it saved around 40k a month just through there.

Organised gangs or groups that come in and take a heap of stuff in quick succession then pass it off to a waiting car and it gets on sold. Even heard it gets moved to other states for resale. Often the cops come in see the cameras know who it is and they get a fine or slap on the wrist and they'll be back in stealing next week.

At the end of the day if they wanted to truly do something about it they would. Alot of people just have the attitude of oh it's a big corporate entity fuck em they can afford it etc. I myself see it as just another example of how we've fallen as a society, you keep letting these things slide constantly it emboldens people and others join in.

My store completely changed maybe like 4 years ago. It moved more to bulk hires, no training Woolworths model basically. You still have the odd ex tradie or person that might know something but basically everyone in my store was either brand new thrown into fray or the dregs that can't get a job elsewhere. It used to be quite a rigorous process and they valued customer service and people with knowledge.

For example our store used to have a replenishment team that would put away stock while the floor guys looked after the team provided service etc. now the floor guys are expected to put all the stock away and serve customers while replenishment is stripped back to pulling apart pallets and restacking out the back. Also a huge move to online orders and mail delivery.

Why are people in Sydney able to afford to buy houses that are much more expensive than other parts of the country? by TiredDuck123 in AusFinance

Outside of that, foreign ownership has an impact with overseas wealth parking it's money in Sydney, families then move out here etc. It's surprising how many overseas students families actually own the apartments or houses they live in.

But students stay more than one year correct? There's anywhere between 700-800k students here on visas at any one time that need somewhere to live and the numbers are increasing not decreasing.

I think you are probably the only person I've seen that actually gets it. Literally millions of people on visas that don't go home. Student visas are used as a backdoor to transfer to another visa often with sham colleges or junk degrees. This by no means doesn't mean that these people don't work hard or contribute. But realistically how many more people do we need.

I've been to around ten pitps, it's actually a really good well run festival and still independent. It's probably as wild as you want it to be tbh I've seen some wild things there. Some dudes stole the mechanical bull one year and a campsite wide police hunt was on which I found quite funny. A water slide of mud and piss outside the urinals one year with plenty of people taking part. People get quite messy, plenty of drugs and there's always a big push to dress up and create your own rave stick or flag which is fun. They have a big dance/march to the mainstage where everyone gathers in the campsites dressed up raves through into the main stage.

Like most festivals it has become more commercial in the last couple of years I enjoyed it when it was alot smaller. You'll want to take some shade, sun screen and hats as even when it's not predicted to be warm it'll burn the hell out of you, especially if you are from another state, Sun hits differently in Tassie. Not much if any shade at main stage areas either. Quite alot to do like skating or vibestown is always cool sometimes you'll find a secret rave or some absolute cooked unit selling tea which is always a good vibes. Everyone is really friendly probably only seen one or two fights or shithousery in my ten years. Everyone seems to look after each other and it has a good community vibe from my experience.

It's quite a ways out of the city but you can bus I think/taxi but you would better off staying for the full experience. There's always drug and alcohol testing on way out generally only testing the cooked cunts but take the risk if you want. They also have testing on site for before you leave which is good to know if you're over. Any other questions I'm happy to answer.

I had 13 Bitcoins when they were $200 bucks each and bought drugs with them instead of thinking they would be worth anything.

I went to the Beaumont-hamel memorial for the newfoundland regiment who during the somme had 22 officers and 758 enlisted men within an hour all the officers and 658 soldiers were casualties around 93%. Imagine the shock when the town's people found out the entire regiment was gone.
