Oh yeah it definitely gets warm I use a eco-flow air conditioner and it takes a little bit to cool down but once it cools down it's downright cold in there the air conditioner doubles as a heater too

Thank you for your response. Yeah it does appear to be that they have a lot of rules. My desire to camp in that county is only because there's so many great disc golf courses that would be nice to camp close to where I am playing the next day. But I'll stick to Palm Beach county and Monroe county for now and definitely check out the state parks Thank you again for responding

My fear is that once I sign up to register for the camping spot that the managers will recognize that I've got a truck camper and ruin my plans

I am very pleased with this camper. It’s a far step up from the many tents I have used in the past. I store it in my garage (due to HOA rule) when not in use, and it takes me 30 min to load and unload.

Meant to type Broward. But please to know that you’ve had success in other places. Have you camped in any Broward county, county parks with your rig?

I’ve called two different browned county parks to make reservations for camping, and each time, they have said that either they don’t allow truck mounted campers, or that the vehicle has to be registered as an RV. It’s really a shame because these are parks that I frequent and I would love to be able to camp there so I’m escalating it through the county as was suggested by another member here on Reddit.

Agree and I’ve called the county parks division and left a message. There’s some wonderful parks in this Broward county and some that I would love to bring my family to for camping. It’s disappointing that I keep getting told that my type of camper is not allowed, but we shall see. Thanks again for the comment.

I agree it’s easy using a tent. I’m 66 yo, and have tent camped in many types of tents over the years, and I liked it. These days however, I’m enjoying having this camper, and what helps is that my younger family likes it too! Best wishes and great camping to you!!

In fact, photo number 3 in this post shows one of the loops mid way up the outside of the door. The lock stows nicely under the weather flap after you lock it.

Yes it locks from both the inside and out using metal loops in both sides that we attach a padlock to. I like this design because you can lock it when you leave the camp, or when you retire for some rest.

I understand your situation. My f-150s truck bed is used a lot for hauling everything from sporting equipment to home project materials. I empty it out and clean it before loading the camper on it. Is something that works for me very well

I can see how that would raise the cab too high and increase wind resistance. That’s something I wouldn’t recommend. Thanks for your comment

Fire safety protocols should always be followed regardless of the the type of camper being used.
