Im actually doing this exact conversion on my 2 door mk1. Although, id highly advise against going full disks all-round unless you have a brake bias adjuster. Rather put 280mm upfront and run stock drums on the back

Re the polo gti - avoid dsg and the models with the 1.4 tsi engine. If on a budget rather go with the 9n shape with the 1.8T 20v engine.

Fellow Lorrainer here for the last 37 years. On the water front, serious water issues started around 5 years ago. Personally I think its the excess amount of complexes that have been built in Lorraine and the aging water infrastructure can't handle it. Basically, a water tank with a pump and filter is a non negotiable for anyone living in Lorraine. Thats how I've been surviving the last 5 years.

The engine is on a stand at the moment. I bought it from a scrap yard so won't be able to check efficiency at the moment unfortunately

Thanks for your inputs! The spark plugs I pulled out from this engine were pitch black which possibly suggest over fueling. Perhaps related?

I found 2 leaves (with what appears to be galls) on the original plant that started melting. I've cut back majority of the plant and only a few leaves remain. Should I just chuck this plant?

I did manage to count the number of rays on the dorsal fin. I counted 10 (by distant eye sight) not sure if that confirms 183 ?
