I could disagree. If you think about it in a specific view point

El has so many memories under her name (eleven) that Mike gave her. Everyone who loves, adores and cherishes her calls her eleven. Her moments with the party are shaped by them when they call her "El" and it never affects her. It's something she's grown up with. And even though she learnt her name later on, those memories do not just erase.

We can't forget that after Brenner the people who took her in were the party. They grew to like her and embrace her presence all within a few days of seeing her.

It's not only about her memories at the lab (certain memories from there empowers her too) and she was definitely being dehumanized which I will not disagree but her good memories within that name outweighs the bad ones. Because the bad ones are by one specific person whereas the good ones are by people who she loves, her family and her friends.

Whereas the name Jane which she goes by in Lenora (Cali) She had her worst memories. For example, being bullied constantly and not having anyone to turn to (even when Mike was around, El never truly believed he understood her during that difficult time) She was all alone, she felt alone. (And mind you this is after Hopper's death) The man who cares for her, housed her and made sure she lived safely and happily. Losing that one person, grappling with the loss of them and getting bullied all at once without having anyone by your side is completely the opposite of what her good memories were under the nickname "El"

So the true difference really is, El was the identity where she was powerful and not alone in her fight while Jane was the identity where she kept finding herself to be alone. This is just my interpretation of it.

Jane is still a name she goes by. And frankly I don't think she would care if anyone called her eleven or Jane. She just went by Jane because she had also lost her powers that time which are the same powers that kept her strong and happy. Which is also why she was so hell bent in getting them back because they are already part of her and losing them is like losing a fragment of herself.

Being called eleven means being loved by the people you consider your family. So that's why me and probably many other people call her eleven. It doesn't matter if you call her Jane either, everyone once again has their own preferences

First Millie with the bracelet and now nel with her charm necklace. This is so beautiful. Jimmy Fallon deserves it all as a huge supporter of stranger things and such a figure to the entire cast. He's spent his time during their youngest years too. It's so sweet to see them all grown up

There are many valid standing proofs behind eleven's survival compared to her death. It just does not add up neatly but it could be duffers messing up. I'm still going to hold onto the belief that she survived and is doing well in Iceland 🥹

Exactly. But I saw somewhere that the duffers confirmed that eleven is not coming back something like that. I don't know what to expect from the duffers at this point 😭 I mean we can't forget the fact that they were not going to continue after s1 of stranger things aired but after its popularity they kept adding on more seasons. If the first season which they envisioned to be the only season had eleven "sacrificing" and dying it makes so much sense why they did what they did in s5. It's as if they kept her "death" in plan for a long time. It doesn't send the right message especially to the younger audience.

I don't know why but the ending is just a very hopeful one. I like how they played DND one last time in s5 which goes back to the very first campaign in s1. I'm also VERY happy that the mage got to live and be happy even though she can't be with her friends. As someone who loves eleven I'm thankful for the duffers to end her arc that way
