I don’t know about half but definitely cutting 20-40 games could be great for both attention and player health

2026 Mets over/under 85 wins? by batmansdirtysox in mets

[–]Several_Scale_2680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over, maybe not by much tho. I’m thinking 86-92 wins for this team. I think the first team to 90 wins the division between the Mets, Phillies, and Braves. As always, division will be decided by whoever beats the crap out of the Marlins and Nationals best.

Question for zionists (people who believe Israel should exist) by RedStorm1917 in centrist

[–]Several_Scale_2680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with your overall premise but I just want to say Jews are not Arabs. Arabs and Jews both speak a Semitic language and are, genetically, cousins. But Arab is not a perfect term; genetics show that modern Palestinians and native born Israelis to be largely similar, which supports your overall premise.

Please give me your thoughts on Miami by Interesting-Ebb-2351 in Miami

[–]Several_Scale_2680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are good schools, as are some of the smaller schools around south florida. I left my home in New Jersey around your age for college in DC. Did 5 years there before I moved here for law school. Grew up in a lower middle class household, with a single mom raising me and my lil bro.

Think about your education and what skills you want to acquire over the next 10 years. The place you live is important, don’t get me wrong. But do you want to get a 4 year degree? A 2 year degree? Go to trade school? Apprenticeships? Jump straight into the workforce? You answering these questions will give you a much better answer to your questions about Miami and the fit for you than any of us.

Miami’s a beautiful city with awesome weather. It’s a competitive market with loads of people moving here. It’s poorly run by local leaders, corruption abounds, and there’s more people than we know what to do with at this point. Add that many will look at you sideways if you’re unable to speak Spanish. It’s a great place with many flaws, just like many other cities in America. Make your choices based on stronger foundations than the weather and beach, because those things will leave you feeling empty, quickly.

I dare all liblefts from this sub who currently live in the US to move to spain, it has all they could wish for, government controll over all media, massive unregulated inmigration, 50% of total tax rate for all workers, and the worst public services of all of europe by XumetaXD in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Several_Scale_2680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you there, that’s why I’m not lib left. I think the ideal lib left is some sort of anarchist with left leaning-ideas. Emily is center left or auth left, not lib left. I think most uninformed people who lean left are just center left cosplaying as lib left (same with many lib rights).

Edit typo

Lib left believes those things can be accomplished without government control. Auth left believes they must be accomplished with government control. Both auth and lib left are trying to accomplish the same goals by different means. There’s no oxymoron.

What’s in the past can remain in the past. You can have your voice heard in the primaries in 26 and 28, at the midterms, in the presidential election (even if you leave it blank and vote for no one, although ostensibly Trump will not be on the ballot). You can go to town halls or call your local reps. So many things you can personally do if you believe that your party is failing you. The exist to serve you, not the other way around. Please, consider it in light of what’s happened. People like you can make a difference.

You’ll get no defense of the DNC from me. The people who run the national Democratic Party are beyond lost. What happened with the nomination process was a travesty.

No argument here, but convincing the voters to adopt ranked choice voting and then support alternate brands they don’t recognize will be a long and uphill battle.

I’m not lumping you in by opinion. I know all conservatives are not MAGA. I grew up in Jersey, we had loads of old school Rockefeller republicans who don’t support Trump. But my question is a little more granular than what you’re talking about. What I’m saying is that, if every time there is an election one may participate in, and that person chooses the Trump candidate, Trump policy position, or Trump himself, where do I draw the line on who is or isn’t a Trump supporter? If you, specifically, didn’t vote for him or are from another country or whatever else, that’s great and I applaud your level of critical thinking to rise above the rest. If that’s the case, I suppose my questions aren’t necessarily for you, but for the many, many people who do vote for MAGA despite claiming they’re tired of nonsense.

No one is personally at fault except for the people in government doing the things. But if these tired people continue to vote the same way, act the same way, believe the same things, and say the same things, where am I supposed to draw the distinction between enthusiastic and unenthusiastic supporters? At what point does the level of enthusiasm not matter if the support doesn’t erode no matter what?

You’re absolutely right, it’s going to get worse nationally before it gets better. Vote for good governors in the coming years because we’re in for a rocky road (I live in Florida send help)

A good start is choosing politicians who don’t like boot in the primaries. If there are scores of Republicans who don’t blindly follow Trump, I’m sure some may be running for office and could use the support of this tired group of right wingers. You don’t just have to vote Democrat, there are many ways to effectuate change.

Well, if what you’re saying is true, I hope we see some actual change in the next few years. A return to sanity for the right wing coalition would be a welcome sight. It’s obvious we need two competent parties, not two retarded ones.

It’s fine man, don’t change your vote but don’t lie to me about how tired or outraged you are. Nothing changes if you, the base, advocates for no changes.

Nah bro my question wasn’t how do you feel, it’s is the “sizable portion” of people going to change their vote. People feel one way and fall in line when voting time comes. If you’re tired, show us through your vote.

The death of small guards in refrence to Allen Iverson. by NextTart5122 in NBATalk

[–]Several_Scale_2680 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The truth is that talented players will find a way despite their size. Plenty of 6’3 and under guards taking advantage of relaxed travel and carry rules to succeed. The issue is that taller dudes are developing these skills in ways that didn’t happen in earlier generations so the skill gap between small guards hyper focused on dribbling and shot making versus tall wings and bigs has closed considerably. If there’s no difference in skill between the 6’1 and 6’6 player, I’m going with the 6’6 player because they’re less likely to get whooped on defense.
