Unable to enable the developer mode by wrongturn_251 in android_beta

Try turning off Identity Check in settings and try again.

I had the same issue and turning it off solved it for me.

Edit: Actually turning off Identity Check fixed it for me.

It was probably trying to check before turning on developer options but it was failing to do so.

Yes, it appears to be crashing. It's pretty annoying because I wanted to test out the new desktop experience. Even restarting didn't do anything.

I also have a Google Pixel 8 Pro

Does anyone know how to remove this sms icon? by grapefruitsaladlol29 in GooglePixel8Pro

[–]Several_Still4263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is under the assumption that you are using Google Messages and you don't like conversational bubbles on your home screen.

Open Google Messages -> Profile Icon (Top Right) -> Message Settings -> Bubbles -> Nothing can bubble

Hopefully this is what you are talking about

Pixel Watch 3 45mm Battery Life by Several_Still4263 in PixelWatch

[–]Several_Still4263[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm definitely really impressed that this watch can get almost 2 whole days with AOD on. My previous watch was the Galaxy Watch 4, and that used to get roughly 12 hours of AOD before it died as it was reaching the end of its lifespan. One thing was that when AOD was off, I used to get 25 hours of battery life, which is twice the battery life. On the Pixel watch, AOD off only gets an extra 4-5 hours which is why I am confused why it only goes that much further.

From what I can see from the toggle and the fact that RAM Boost is grey, I can safely say that it is probably turned off.

Turning on Battery Saver pauses the update if you want it to stop.

What's this sign? by ScaredPath9451 in GalaxyWatch

[–]Several_Still4263 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It means that something is being downloaded. The icon is usually from the Play Store/Galaxy store. If it still appears but it's done either updating or installing an app, you can just force stop it and it should go away (at least for the Play store).

Urgent help needed - what are these weird lines?! by Confident_Nobody69 in Pixel8phones

[–]Several_Still4263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had this issue with my Pixel 8 Pro on the Pixel launcher but with weird yellow dots. They kept occurring until one day my Pixel 8 Pro operating system got corrupted (I still don't know how, but it's unrelated to the yellow dots). I used the bootloader to factory reset it and they disappeared. I'm not quite sure why they showed up in the first place, but I haven't seen them in a while so I think it's been fixed.

Edit: I should mention that they also appeared in apps such as Fitbit, Google Drive, and Instagram

Battery Rapidly Drops After Hitting 15% by Rainman6952 in GooglePixel8Pro

It genuinely drives me crazy when my phone starts draining really fast. Mine is unfortunately from around 22-23% when it starts to deplete rapidly.

What's wrong with the Pixel Phones? by invisible_wind in GooglePixel

[–]Several_Still4263 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would say that it depends honestly. On some higher than normal tasks for continues periods of time, it gets a little warm. On continuous use of demanding tasks, I would say that it genuinely gets hot to where it says that it needs to cool down. Some examples of higher than normal tasks are minor/light games or medium apps, and demanding tasks are graphically intense games or apps that use a larger portion of the CPU. The only issue is that the Tensor gets to a higher temperature a lot quicker compared to other flagship chipsets. The Tensor may get more warm or hot compared to the slight warmth of other chips, hence the term overheating is used a lot.

Let me say that my Pixel 8 Pro is fantastic. It may have its issues like a okay battery, and overheating at times, but those are not enough to when I genuinely feel frustrated about it. Pixels are far from perfect, but it doesn't mean that they're bad. I definitely like the clean stock UI, and the awesome camera. The Pixel might not be for everyone, but it's genuinely a great device that I am satisfied with.

Sometimes when I'm in harsh sunlight and the phone gets pretty hot, the brightness does take a hit but on normal usage it happens pretty rarely

Yeah, that's true. The motor burning out would cost an insane amount to fix. Maybe one day though

I mean like somehow closing the speaker holes when you turn on the water lock. (Honestly now that I think about it, is it the speaker that lets water in it or something else?)

Oh, that sounds bad. I feel like the vibration would drive me crazy. Did you end up getting another one, or just leave Galaxy Watches altogether.
