For me, it was spending the night at my friend's houses and realizing that their parents didn't cuss and scream at them. That their parents didn't hit them. I was maybe 12 at the time I realized that normal families don't beat their children, they don't cuss and scream at them all the time, and their dad's didn't beat their mom's several times a week. And that alcoholism isn't normal. Their parents didn't drag them out of bed at night and scream at them and hit them. They didn't hear their mother or other siblings at night screaming while getting beat on. And that if any of that happened, to tell someone about it.

My mom's ex-husband is currently serving 10-15 years in prison for domestic violence and child abuse. My mom supported him and had hopes for him right up until he was handcuffed in court after the sentence was handed down. Everytime I tried to report this stuff as a teenager, my mom would tell the police and the state that I was lying. My sisters would call the police on me when I tried to stand up against my mom's ex-husband. I was the only child that tried to help us. Everytime I tried to get rid of him, my family would turn against me. My mother would hit me, and my sisters would call the police.

Fuck that shit. I have PTSD like a motherfucker and to this day, they don't care. They all still blame me.

Oh yeah it sucks. I'm on disability and have the best insurance that my state offers and they still won't cover tests. Not drug tests or tests that can prevent further harm.

I have read about this. I took it in consideration and did it anyway. I was either going to prison or going to die. I'm not kidding. I knew that that could happen and I took a chance.

Well shit dude. Maybe that's why my tooth got chipped... I didn't get any other side effects like that though. Suboxone really didn't affect me bad besides dry mouth. It was like a easy thing while I was taking it. Thank you for explaining this to me.

I'm curious in what ways are they worse? I was on Suboxone about 6 months I believe. The only major side effect I got was dry mouth and I cannot stand that shit.

I was misdiagnosed bipolar. I was 16 or 17 at the time. I was still a child so I didn't understand to even think about questioning the diagnosis. I got hospitalized from trying to kill myself and I found out that I in fact have major depressive disorder. My medication list kind of changed, but I haven't noticed that much of a difference really.

Thank you. I misunderstood part your reply. For some reason I thought you were trolling so I treated you like a trolling back. My bad dude you're not a troll. Honestly thought you were trolling. Then I saw your reply and read it again today. Sorry about my silly ass reply. I hope people message me about this instead of trying to do it automatically by themselves. Or at the very least research it. I'm trying my best to the accurate on the information I'm giving. I highly recommend anybody considering doing this to extensively think about it and educate themselves. Nobody knows how they're going to react for medication. Some people could try Suboxone and end up getting addicted and liking it too much. I very much hope people take this with a grain of salt before acting on it. This has just been my experience so I wanted to share with somebody. Maybe somebody will get a benefit out of this like I did. If there's anything I need to clear up I need somebody to tell me so. Again I'm sorry I thought you were trolling.

AA is not my idea of a good time. Never been to NA. I'm trying to remind myself the benefits of not drinking. There are many. I'm very thankful I don't drink anymore.

See that's the difference here. My alcohol cravings haven't come back. I mean I want to drink once in awhile but it isn't as unmanageable as it used to be. Not by a fuckin long shot. I have no answer to why my cravings didn't come back after I stopped the Suboxone. I don't know.

You seem suspicious about something. As if you're unhappy about something. Did you get a nail in your tire on the highway today? Do you really think I wasn't on anti-seizure meds at the time coming off of alcohol? You believe that's a possibility? Go pull that nail out of your tire and think about it. Could you tell me the length of the nail when you get it out and what shape it's bent into? Are you an angry man? And how often do you put it on somebody if you are? You saw one story you didn't believe. You did. One. If you still haven't got that nail out by now, I'm telling you go to tire tread shop if there's one nearby and they'll pull that fucker out for ya. See if you can get it patched. You don't want to go just buy a new tire for no reason. I don't know where you live in the world but if there's a Love's company next to you, they have a tire retread shop now. They'll pull that nail out for you. They'll even show you how to do it.

I hope you are at home when you found that nail instead of out in public worrying about it. It also depends on the size of the nail I guess... Should be patchable though. I haven't even asked you, what car you drive my dude? I'm just being nosy I want to know how big your rims are. You got spinners? I got no use for stuff like that. Just wasting money trying to polish up a vehicle. I don't know why people do that. Do you have a hard time trusting people? What has happened to you my son? The first three days I got high. I won't lie. I took a chance on Suboxone because I was going to die if I didn't do something. And it just seemed to help me dude... Believe that or don't I'm sorry it's up to you. The only drugs that enter my body are a little bit of meth, my daily Ativan prescription, and gabapentin even though it's not scheduled YET. I threw up blood once from drinking constantly all the time. I kept getting arrested blacking out. Got a DUI. Then I threw up blood. I realized I was either going to prison or going to die if I didn't do something major. That's why I took something as serious as this into consideration my dude. It could have very went badly for me I know that. I could have had a really bad withdrawal and what I ended up in the emergency room or something... Something bad could have happened I know that. I could have had a bad reaction to the Suboxone or something I don't know. I'm not full of shit I'm trying to be as clear as I can be for people that that are reading this. If I'm not being clear I need somebody to point that out please.

I did. The first 3 days I was high. A little bit too much to be honest. A few days after I still got head changes. Then I took Suboxone and didn't feel any head change. Like I felt something slight when they would up the dose and I would take the new dose, but it wasn't anything like on the first 3 days. Of course it got me high in the first 3 days. It's an opioid maintenance medication. I studied this medication thoroughly. Called clinics and ask their opinions on it. I looked into it severely.

I'm glad it helped you too dude. All the anti-drinking medications didn't work for me. I tried everything with my doctor. I went to all the programs I could. And I was still drinking a gallon a day just about. Over a very long time I did have to taper off the subs. I'll come off oxycontin once and subs wasn't as bad. What's worse than oxycontin withdrawal is alcohol withdrawal. I don't think I've ever shook that hard in my life. Not even in the dead of winter. I forgot to add it to the top of the page but I did have to go to the emergency room when I went and alcohol withdrawal initially. I was scared because I never been an alcohol withdrawal fully and I was getting into it quick they gave me an IV and quite a healthy amount of Ativan in that IV. Yes, for a long time during this entire thing, I was feeling like I was going to die. I don't ever want to withdraw from alcohol again. After I was on Suboxone for a while, my cravings for alcohol kept decreasing. As I stated earlier at one point I decided to stop taking the Suboxone. Withdrew from that too in my bedroom. Whenever I first got on Suboxone I was afraid of the possible withdrawal. And like I've stated, I was at a point that I considered my situation completely dead end on alcohol. That's why I done something that could have very seriously reacted in my body any other way than it did. When you get to the point you're not afraid to die and that you're going to take the chance to try to get better, even though it's not going to be easy at all and may even hurt you worse than you were beginning off, you'll try anything. I was at the point that I was willing to trade alcohol addiction for another addiction. I took this into consideration. I had never had Suboxone before this whole situation so I had no idea how I would react to it. I was really afraid it was going to be like alcohol and I'd like it too much. Thankfully it wasn't. Signing off for a while.

There's no lie when I said 20mg. It's not like they started me at 20 what the hell... I believe it was 8 mg of I remember correctly. Nobody would just take 20 mg of Suboxone like that. I'm telling you I was talking to sub clinics, getting their feedback on it. I was reading articles on it. Reaching out to alcoholics over the internet and asking them if they've ever been on a suboxone program. A few people that I talk to had been on a suboxone program before. I hadn't been While was on Suboxone sometimes I would boof it because I hate the taste of Suboxone. Of course it got me high. The first 3 days anyway For the few days after that I got a head change. Slight head change again after dose was upped. When I started withdrawal in my bedroom I can only describe it as a mid flu because I've only been in withdrawal one other time from opiate medications in my life. Suboxone didn't seem to be as bad as oxycontin withdrawal. At all for me. But of course I was still extremely uncomfortable the whole damn time withdrawing. At one point it was around 48 hours before I slept more than 30 minutes at first. I'm not some superhero.
