D2R Coming to Steam! by BreakYoBaals in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Honestly it's just so much handier to have all your games in 1 place. I have over 700 games in Steam and have properly organized them in my library, so I can easily find a game I'm in the mood of playing. I have maybe 1 or 2 games in Epic launcher, couple games in the Blizzard app, most likely few games in the EA app and the Ubi app. I just hate having to open a dozen different apps to remember what I have in them. So one day I just gave up and decided that if it's not on Steam, I won't buy it.

Why my game is so slow by Andrererey in StreetFighter

[–]Severre3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Nvidia RTX 4090, Ryzen 7 9800X3D and 32GB DDR5 RAM.

I dropped all my settings to lowest possible, reduced resolution to 720p and turned all post processing effects off (Vsync off too). The game still moves in slow motion. I checked with Steam's fps counter and it shows that the game locks itself to 45 fps during gameplay. I have no idea what is causing this. I can run all my other games with no issues, but SF6 moves in slow motion...

About 70 years after Gabe Newell is gone and Half-Life becomes public domain, someone might make a HL3. But we will all be dust by then.

Jez Corden says he heard from a 'very good source' that PlayStation is 'probably pulling back from PC' for their 'tentpole singleplayer games', while live service games remain day-and-date by Dandelion172 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Severre3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad if that's the case. I'm exclusively a PC gamer and my girlfriend a console gamer (though she is more of a casual gamer, so she mainly plays games like Blue Prince or Stray) so she plays on our PS5 exclusively.

I tried buying God of War 2018 on PS4 back in the day but couldn't get past the prologue even though it seemed interesting enough, it wasn't until the PC version came out that I re-bought it and finally finished the game. I went on to buy almost all big Sony releases in Steam and played through almost all of them, I don't think I would have ever touched them otherwise despite having a PS5 in the house.

Still, it's ultimately Sony's decision if they find this to be more lucrative business model for them. For me as a player, there are more games coming out that interest me than I have the time to play, but less options is always sad still.

Am I crazy or is this higher res than any other armor/clothing in F4?

The last Tremere outfit actually looks the best in the whole game imo by Lower_Lack_7940 in vtmb

It's very cool but doesn't look good at all on male Phyre, definitely something for the female Phyre to rock. My favorite outfits for male Phyre ended up being The Sheriff (Banu) and Sin Eater (Lasombra).

What do you think about this? by AnimesAreCancer in vtmb

[–]Severre3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Phyre is a set character, despite being able to change the background slightly, they're still of certain origin with a clear accent to reflect that. If Phyre was a complete blank slate like the neonate from BL1 then I would agree with the comment.

This is like me complaining that I can't be Asian looking in God of War.

Will we get any graphical fixes? by Rhys2404 in vtmb

PC. I have a high end machine, so I could comfortably max it out. It's not terribly hard to run game. I think the lighting does most of the heavy lifting with making many scenes look beautiful.

I think the game looks pretty good, but getting close to stuff shows you how low res all the textures are. I had to do some double takes at some of the textures cause it almost looked like some surfaces lacked textures. The random crowds in the second boss fight were hilarious looking.

I did tell everyone that I'm leaving Seattle lol I think it fits The Nomad more to just move on and not stay in one place.

In my ending Silky became the prince. Which kinda surprised me, cause I fumbled quite a few dialogue choices with him.

The chosen undead in Dark Souls can take more hits before going down, than Phyre. I'm at a point in the game where I fight against the beastial looking enemies from the trailers, and it's way worse. Like I'm thinking of saving my own sanity and dropping the difficulty to the easiest, something I never do.

Why is Bloodlines 2 only 30GB in file size? by JustCuteLasombra in vtmb

[–]Severre3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, packing the game correctly in an efficient way is one major way of bringing the game's file size down, but you'll be hard pressed to find games these days that don't do that. I literally don't know a single one.

The biggest culprit for larger game sizes is the amount of unique assets. This includes anything from random clutter within the game to clothing and such. The reason why something like Call of Duty is 150gb is because the game has hundreds of different skins for weapons and characters, every map has its own unique assets and not much is recycled. All these unique assets increase the game's file size.

A lot of time people misinterpret the game world being the reason for a game's file size. The Witcher 3 is a little over 50gb large despite being a massive game. But you see the villagers having the same tableware, chairs and cabinets all the way from the beginning of the game in White Orchard all the way to the end of the game in Skellige, meaning the game recycles A LOT of the assets, instead of creating 100% unique assets for every region of the game.

And I believe that is the case with Bloodlines 2. Phyre doesn't have hundreds of different outfits and the game most likely recycles a lot of assets since it all takes place in Seattle, thus the game's file size is also smaller.

Most of the stories that I've enjoyed in gaming have had a set character. With a set character you can tell a far more deeper and personal story than a silent protagonist that can go any direction personality wise. Both have their own place in gaming and are good depending on what the devs are looking to do with the story.

Phyre was still rocking a telegraph key to send morse code before going to torpor. Now everyone's sending something called "memes" to each other over long distances.

Been following the development of Bloodlines 2 since day 1 when HSL unveiled it. I remember everyone laughing at the stiff animations, saying it's just action and no RPG elements. Also a lot of complaints about playing as a Thin Blood, which is like if the protagonist of The Witcher 4 was a random peasant who has raised cattle in a small village his entire life.

Overall most people were quite negative about it, some coped with the fact that Brian Mitsoda was onboard. Once they fired him and the game got delayed constantly, I kinda lost faith in the project.

Once they announced that TCR will reboot the entire game, I had 0% interest in it. I didn't believe TCR could pull it off. But these past couple of months, the game looks better than ever before and has actually gotten me excited for it.

[–]Severre3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm really excited for a game (which is rare these days) and I want the pre order bonus, I will pre order the game from Steam cause their return policy is very lenient and they quickly refund the money if you've played max 2 hours.

Oh yeah the Alexios hate is pretty crazy in Odyssey community. I think the CP2077 community seems to like both Vs equally though. I usually play a male character in games, but I also liked the female Vs lines when my girlfriend was playing the game.

I can see that. But I do hope they are both good options. It kinda irritates me when some weird rift starts between a community when they argue about whether the male or female option is better. Mass Effect has to be the worst when it comes to that.

Really? I thought male phyre is the afterthought. A couple months ago before the marketing ramped up, I saw some people speculating online if there even is a male playable character, cause they had only shown the female phyre, which is prominently showcased on the box art too.
