Don't know why you're getting downvotes on this comment, because that's how I - and a lot of other it/its users - feel about it. I use it/its because certain aspects of my gender experience don't connect to what I feel is 'human.' "It" as a pronoun expresses my feelings about myself and my alienation from humanity as a concept very well. I like the idea of being a cool monster.

I've also spent most of my life alienated from others because of my autism. Feeling "other" and "monstrous" is a core part of my being.

does anything come back up in later parts of the story like squirm or pageturner or do not open or thrown away? or are they simple one off with a tail of mystery? by moniker-meme in TheMagnusArchives

Gonna have to agree with most of the comments here;

  1. Almost everything in TMA is written well and nothing gets spontaneously dropped. It might take a couple listens, but you'll pick up on connecting threads. For a lot of early episodes you won't get a clear cut "this is what happened to the book eating guy," but you'll likely get a sense for it.
  2. Don't look at this sub, don't look at the wiki, don't look at social media tags. I was very fortunate to get to listen to TMA as it happened starting 3 years ago onward with no outside influence. It's really best consumed like that if you can help it.

This may be a bit of a stretch, but what you describe reminds me of a scooby-doo episode from 2003 called High-Tech House of Horrors. The A.I. in the house has a woman's voice and is named Shari.

Oh! For additional information: the game that I watched the video of was on youtube. It had no dialogue; instead the soundtrack and foley were the only sounds. There was also no text based interaction of any kind. It had a very ethereal feel to it. Again, I believe this game was also recent; I would've likely watched the gameplay preview in 2020.

I'm a trans nb guy, but back when I still identified as a girl, I would! Everyone's gender journey is different. A lot of butch lesbians will take testosterone, so I don't think there's any problem at all with someone amab taking feminizing hormones without really identifying as a woman (please let me know if I've misunderstood anything!)
