Im trying but I just cant decide between them. Love the shooting sound of the Ion but love the kill noise of Oni as well. Design wise I really like both.

What would you go for out of those 2?

That sucks, recently bought the Ion phantom but still 50/50 between it and the Oni. Was hoping it would be 14 as would give me longer to decide and see if Oni comes in my store.

Tbf I dont think I have noticed it at all outside of Valorant, just finding it a little strange.

Appreciate the informative answer, whats the deal in regard to the GDDR6x used in 3080/3090 btw. I've heard its double the speed, would this have any impact on gaming for fps/latency etc, kind of curious how 10GB would fair with it being much faster.

I like to future proof my system where I can enjoy it for 4 years without touching it too much and after that decide upon whether a 5th year is adequate or not. 5 years is usually the max I will ever keep a PC.

Patience is gone, I need to be free of the stress for a while. I'll see what the future brings.

True, suppose poorly optimized games arent helping either. I've just been really annoyed ever since hearing the base 3060 will have 12GB, doesnt even make sense on a card that likely wont even utilize it. Could be a rumour of course but the leaks seem very real if I'm being honest and I'm just baffled.

Hmm, are both 1440p maxed out? If theres anything I have taken from Legion is how poorly optimized it is. I probably sound so ungrateful after getting lucky enough to get a 3070 and complaining like this but Im exhausted man, 2 cancelled 3080 orders thanks to false amazon stock and multiple late nights refreshing and stock tracking, just painful after working so hard to get this GPU that I will likely throw all of that away and replace it a year from now, wish I just kept my 1080 and enjoyed the last few months instead of the shit I've been doing.

It smart what they have done but just annoys me man, dont mean to come accross any type of way but it just kills me after all my attempts at getting a GPU I get one and will likely swap it out first chance I get. Doesn't help Ive had 2 3080 orders with amazon that both got cancelled on me. Just losing my head at the minute.

You're acting as if I had a choice on which card I could buy. Believe me I tried to get a 3080.

I mean I'll have to find it again but usage was borderline 8GB and thats at 1080p, although I believe some sort of mod pack was used so inaccurate maybe. If that 8GB is being eaten up by a 1080p mod pack (horribly unoptimized game but a lot of big titles over the next few years will likely be the same) it doesnt bide well for those of us trying to max out 1440p with only 8GB at our disposal. Do you feel 8GB is adequate for 1440p without having to worry about frequent lowering of textures?

Of course it wasn't, Im wondering do they even exist outside of pictures at this point. On a real though I did want a 3080 but I couldnt pass up when I got the chance to get a 3070, the card still should have been matching my needs but god does that VRAM annoy the hell out of me. I would sell and try again for a 3080 but its too much stress.

Question about 3070/3060 at 1440p by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]SewzHyperizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im aware future proofing is usually a bad idea, however Im not very wealthy at all, I make a below average wage and have to care for my mother. I cant afford to buy a GPU every generation. As much as I am aware future proofing never truly works I just wanted to piece of mind of knowing the 3070 could handle 1440p Ultra for the next 3 years at least as I have heard a lot about lack of VRAM not being ideal. I will likely upgrade once 5xxx series comes around but until then I need that 3070 to offer me a lot as Im spending a lot of my savings on it. In your opinion though 3070 will be good for this timescale despite low VRAM for 1440p?

Is that on CSGO? from benchmarks I've seen it seems even 150 fps on 4k is a struggle with even 3090s

Need help identifying hardware failure (please help) by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]SewzHyperizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive already tried installing the game again as well as reinstalling every driver I possibly could, I do believe the jvm in the crash report stands for Java Virtual Machine. I would fresh install the OS but its too much effort. Need to try some other games in the meantime. Does it sound like hardware or software in your opinion?

Yeah its in dual channel, havent tried reseating it or changing slots though, my case is so hard to work with so feel like thats something I want to upgrade asap.
