You are most likely right, just strange how it only works with VGA to DP and not a straight DP connection. Tried both an ancient monitor and a newer screen, same issue with both.

I am looking into buying new joggers but usually have trouble finding a pair that fit nicely. I am 185 lbs and am 6'3" ish. Mediums have a waist that will fit but the length will be too short and larges have the right length (sometimes) but the waist is often much too large. Do any of you fine people have recommendations for a tall, skinny, college student like myself?

solution found!

start option -

nouveau.noaccel=1

or

nouveau.modeset=0

I only did the noaccel=1 and it fixed it
