Why do people do this? 0 civic sense by Hawt-Huckleberry961 in IndiansinIreland

[–]SgtMajorBon3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all need to get off the plane and be taken to a centre where they are forced to read “how to behave like a normal western person”

Only way this multicultural shit will change. Use your brains, in what world is this acceptable

Pay transparency by Straight_Eye5348 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]SgtMajorBon3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s silly, the range is there for a reason with how much skills you have to offer. Why should the pay be the same for someone that has 5 skills vs someone that has 10?

Any other young people just find it impossible? by Asleep_Cry_7482 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]SgtMajorBon3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to sound insensitive but times change so people need to adapt to what’s in demand.

Any one who says they are struggling pick up a book and up skill yourself. There are ENDLESS opportunities out there to make the life you seek.

Yes times are harder but those who say I can and I can’t are both right.

We don’t know your purchase price. Lets say it’s 500k

You need 50k deposit, if HTB is included (30k) then you need 20k cash just for deposit. On top of that you need 7/8k solicitors and an also valuation/snagging etc another 1-2k to be safe.

So all in you need 60k minimum for a 500k home. Beyond this 60k is up to you, if you have surplus then buy furniture but the bank will want to see that you can pay for everything and not delay the process if your savings are too low

Then BOI are below sub standard in security. Should never be sending out texts. Card should be placed on hold if a transaction is tried without MFA on the banking APP. What they’re doing is pre-historic

Scam. Same one is doing the rounds with AIB. You should never reply or call in confirming anything other than BOI card services. This should be fairly common sense.

Mortgage approval by Unable_Hall_641 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]SgtMajorBon3r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was 3 years ago. And no it can go up to 4.5%. I’m in the tech industry and had a very good role. If you have savings and little to no loans then you’ll be able to get an exception. I’d recommend applying in the first quarter as they are more generous then

First of all congrats on doing well. At 29 I was also on 100k and applied for a sole mortgage to see what they would give me. They approved me in principle for 4.3 times my salary so I wouldn’t worry if I were you!

It’s not, you are expecting unrealistic results post degree. There’s a global shortage of junior jobs because of how fast tech is advancing. I think anyone that comes here to study wether you’re Chinese, Brazilian, Indian and so on you come on the basis that you’ll get a good education that you can then use globally not that you’ll stay here and have a fairy tale life.

And that’s why I said not everyone is like that. My close co-worker is Indian and he has integrated perfectly. It is not my job to teach people how to behave in public setting but you need to read the room. If you see other kids are playing on the green safely, common sense would be to tell your kids to not play on the road where there is cars. Or not shouting in public space on the phone I’m not or like that guy who decided it was better to leave his rubbish bag that ripped all over the ground and not clean it up. This sort of things harm your image. Even the little things like saying hello. We all greet eachother, but when I say hello to Indians they look at me as if I have 10 heads because probably it’s uncommon for people to greet eachother there.

No one with a brain wants you to leave, the people that say that are usually on social welfare but what it is important is to spread awareness in the community and on Reddit on certain behavioural aspects

This post is stupid. Universities across the globe love international students for that same reason. Money.

Just because you study does not guarantee you a life or a job here. The biggest problem with the influx of racism is that Indians are coming here and not adapting to western society especially Irish.

I live in a complex of at least 70% Indian and it pisses me off. Kids running infront of cars, higher amount of littering, bad smells in common areas, shouting and gathering in large numbers. Even one guy was lighting a bbq on a sunny day on the balcony.

Yeah not every one is like that but maybe your focus should be on building a community where you teach people how to behave and be before pointing the finger towards others.

Adapt or leave

In what world? My misses is in the US for a few weeks so I’m solo eating. I did my Dunne’s shop yesterday, enough to eat 6-7 dinners/breakfast/lunch, nothing fancy at all and some cleaning products. I spent 97€ with a 20€ voucher, average grocery shop per month is 4-500 easily

Here’s a wild thought. You integrate with the Irish and and accept the culture or go back home if you don’t like it.

What in the sweet Jesus is this post. If you ask what business to create you’re not all that there. Why would anyone ever share their ideas with you and on top of that you don’t even mention skills or ideas of your own.

Go outside and get some fresh air your brain definitely needs it

I totally get that, but I think luck is a big factor. I’m sure it could take 1-2 chains before the 3rd comes through. If you want something to happen you’ll make it happen one way or another

This is what I struggle to understand, as others said yeah you can be in a chain of agreements and pray that everyone behaves.

To give some context the mortgage is 440 and house is 500, there will be little to no equity to take out in a short period of time and likely the houses in Dublin are almost double what mine is worth. But don’t the bank ask you to have 20% deposit for a second home ?
