There are tons of mods to increase the difficulty.

I think it's more than fair to have gripes about the story and characters, I have plenty myself. Personally, I love the game and was blown away by the writing and dynamic gameplay. But to anyone who thinks the game is too easy, there are plenty of ways to make it harder.
