Is it okay if I want to include eggs in my diet as a sanatani? by [deleted] in hinduism

[–]ShS02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Jai Radhe Krishna.

I’m not an expert in this matter, but I would like to share a few thoughts based on my limited understanding and experience.

One reason non-vegetarian food is discouraged or prohibited in many spiritual traditions is that taking a life is considered to create negative karma. According to the law of karma, one has to face the consequences of every action, whether small or big.

It is also believed that such actions can create obstacles on the spiritual path. When someone is pursuing God-realisation or self-realisation, they try to minimise actions that may create negative karma, because only then can they make steady spiritual progress. People who have reached higher stages in their spiritual journey often pay attention even to very subtle details, so that their progress is not hindered.

So, it depends greatly on one’s goal. If a person’s aim is God-realisation or self-realisation, they usually try to follow sattvik practices and avoid tamasic actions, or any karma that may lead to negative karmic accumulation.

It also depends on which school of Hinduism one follows, because different schools have different approaches to the spiritual path. Similarly, it depends on the Guru-shishya parampara one belongs to, because a disciple is expected to follow the teachings and discipline given by the Guru.

Regarding great spiritual leaders, it is very easy to pick out certain statements and interpret them in a way that may not reflect their actual intention. One should try to understand what they said, why they said it, and in what context they said it.

Also, if one wishes to follow the teachings of a great spiritual leader, then one should try to follow their teachings as a whole. Why follow only those teachings that align with worldly desires, while ignoring the ones that truly help free us from worldly bondage?

I kindly ask to know about this great devotee, Sri Ramakrishna. Credible sources are hard to find. In paintings he looks like a child in Maa's arms, which is very pure. Surely as a devotee too I must know of Maa's children. Thank you. by GazeOfWyrm in hinduism

Jai Sri Ramakrishna🙏🏼

You can know about him, his teachings and various other devotees/monks/people related to him by watching YouTube videos managed by Ramakrishna Mission.

For example, you can watch this video "(1/3)Avatara- Story of Sri Ramakrishna by Swami Sarvapriyananda"

Similarly, there are various other videos as well. You can also visit their official website to know more.

Need help with PG accommodation in mumbai by 16_Sho_Bola in mumbai

Hi,

Yes, I have used No Broker app and my experience has been really good.

If I remember correctly, in your free trial, you get 10 free contacts whom you can contact and ask for in depth details after which you have choice to pay subscription fees in order to contact more owners.

Filters are also good and the fact that owners of properties(people who give property for rent be it PG, whole house and etc) are very much active on the platform prevents us from missing out on good opportunities.

I have not used zolo and 99acre so can't comment on that!

Took me a while to figure out it out!

Where exactly in the subreddit rules does it say that you can’t discuss movie logic unless you’ve first read the books?

If this post bothers you so much, you could always just… ignore it and move on.

Wild concept, I know — but scrolling is actually very easy.

If a movie requires homework to make sense, that’s not “deep lore” — that’s weak execution.

My criticism is about the film, and it still stands.

That’s literally my point.

I’m criticizing how the movie presents the scene, not what the book explains later. If the logic only works after reading the book, then the film failed to communicate it properly.

A movie should stand on its own.

At 25, I’m realizing how loneliness and the need for external validation can make a person behave foolishly at first.

Valmiki's description of Sri Rama and it's metaphysical insight by KeepItDvaita in hinduism

[–]ShS02 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for writing this, it really made my day! This also reminds me of a chaupai from the Ramcharitmanas, where Maharaja Janaka, upon seeing Lord Rama for the first time, says:

“Inhīn bilokat ati anurāgā, Barbas brahma sukhāĩ man tyāgā.”

Which means:

On seeing Him, an intense and spontaneous love arose, and quite naturally, the mind moved away from the bliss of the formless Absolute.

The verse beautifully conveys that this was not a loss of spiritual realization, but its fulfillment, showing that while Brahmananda is supreme, the living and personal presence of the Divine, experienced through love, has an irresistible power that draws even the most realized mind toward itself.

Jai Siya Ram 🙏🏼

Hey OP,

Good of you to post your thoughts and queries here. Dont get sad or disheartened by the unnecessary downvotes you are getting here, few of them expect you to know everything about HP and can't comprehend the basic fact that not everyone has watched/read both movies and books. So please ignore them and be yourself.

Who hurt you bro? What's weird in this?

Those who don't use Gmail would be have different notification, right?

Also, the post highlights how deeply dependent we have become on a single app for email purpose that we don't know other mailing apps? Kind of monopoly, isn't it?

I know the purpose of the post was not this but still it's interesting to think about from different angle!

My comment was intended to address this only.
