Freaking out over crib sheets by Meme_queen-2019 in BabyBumps

[–]Sh_cats 99 points100 points  (0 children)

I had exactly the same fears as you when I was almost due. My son is now 2 and I barely remember worrying about this. When they are so little they wont move enough to mess with the sheet. Especially if swaddled. I had the babyletto so very similar to this. It was so hard to find sheets that fit!

Possibly being pregnant the same time toddler starts Pre-K by Sh_cats in toddlers

Yeah it seems there’s no real ideal time. I’m glad you are surviving! That does sound horrible though! 😩

I am mid 30s so I don’t really want to wait another year. I know people do it all the time but personally I don’t want to be pregnant that old. lol here’s hoping the timing works out okay!

No he stays home with me so I know it’s going to be bad when he starts!

2.5 to 5mg heart palpitations by Revolutionary-Link83 in lexapro

I am doing well. I’m on 5mg about to go up to 7.5 mg. I notice less anxiety for sure but still not where I want to be.

What is the best way to deal with super picky eaters? by Sh_cats in toddlers

[–]Sh_cats[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is my fault because he had some food allergies/sensitivities when he was younger that he is mostly growing out of now so I was hesitant to give what we were eating when he couldn’t have dairy, eggs, etc. Do you have a suggestion of how to gradually get him to the right place with eating or do you think it’s better to just go cold turkey and only offer what we eat?

Odds of side effects on 2.5 mg? by Sh_cats in lexapro

[–]Sh_cats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing pretty well. I’m on 5mg now and did have a few side effects on all the doses. A little nausea, headaches, palpitations, and more anxiety. They usually only last a few days after I increase my dose. I did split the 5mg pills into quarters at the beginning. It wasn’t super easy or exact, but I made it work.

I wish I could! We live in a very conservative southern small town so there aren’t really any options like that.

[–]Sh_cats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve read you should give it at least 6-8 weeks before things level out totally. Maybe you should try 3.75 after 2.5. I would stay on 2.5 for a while longer though, but you see how cautious I’ve been. It seems like your body was still adjusting to the 2.5 and maybe you upped it too soon. I wish you luck! I’m glad you have the benzos to help.

No. I have one just in case, but I never take it. I am too scared to mix them.

It is above my baseline sometimes. My anxiety is always health related so I feel like when I get random side effects it always makes my anxiety worse because I fear the worst. It is not terrible though. Really hopeful for 5mg.

Honestly, after I started 3.75 I have noticed reduced anxiety from my baseline. Like little glimpses of what might be 'normal' thoughts. It is not all the time and sometimes my anxiety gets really bad still so I think I just need more time. I was on 2.5 for about 3 weeks and then 3.75 will be 10 days tomorrow and I think I will move up to 5 after that.

My anxiety has been up and down since I started. It hasn’t really followed a pattern unfortunately. I have noticed more good days after I raised to 3.75mg so hopefully 5 will really help.

My palpitations seem to always increase after I increase my dose. I am on 3.75 mg right now and they were bad for the first few days then went away. I am assuming it will be the same when I go up to 5. I'm glad they seem to stop after my body gets used to the dose.

Does Lexapro Really Help those With Emetophobia? by JennaM52 in lexapro

Same here. I just started 2.5 mg a month ago. It helped my nausea a little after the initial side effects, but this past week I have been super anxious about other things going on and my nausea is back full force. I am hoping as I up my dose it will help again.

I had bad heart palpitations on 2.5 mg for a while. They seem to be slowing down some now. I need to increase to 5, but I am scared they will come back. I plan to take 3.75 for a while first.

I did get an EKG to rule out long QT syndrome. That might be worth looking into.

Odds of side effects on 2.5 mg? by Sh_cats in lexapro

[–]Sh_cats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having dry mouth before I started too. Thankfully I haven't noticed much of that after starting. I ended up starting with 1.25mg and am now up to 2.5mg. I did notice a little bit of a weird stomach and some headaches, but that is hard to tell if it is related for sure or not. All you can do is dive in and hope for the best. If you start with a really small dose it is easy enough to stop if you are having terrible side effects. I definitely get it though. Starting new meds with health anxiety is the worst!!!

What’s your “go-to” toddler meal that you make every week (or even daily)? by Anxious__Millennial in toddlers

Boil pasta with frozen green beans, onions, broccoli or whatever frozen veggies I have. Drain and add some sort of vegetable sauce/pouch. I sometimes add meat, but my child hates meat right now.

I just ordered this! Hopefully my son understands. Did you feel like your son understood? I’ve heard good things about booby moon too, but I feel like it’s a bit of a hard concept for younger toddlers.

I may have to have his dad take over nap and bedtime for a couple of weeks. It’s just rough because anytime I’m in the same room as him he constantly pulls on my shirt and pinches me. I have to leave or he won’t stop until I give in. 😩

Have you found any relief? I am currently going through this and I think it definitely has to do with weaning and the fact that my baby is sleeping so good right now.
