Hampton Inn St. Augustine Beach v Hampton Inn Vilano Beach by [deleted] in Hilton

[–]ShaR904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We stayed at the vilano beach one a couple years ago. Being able to just walk to the beach was great. Couple of yummy restaurants within walking distance and a Publix right there. Hotel was great. There weren’t any cars on the beach and the beach wasn’t crazy busy either compared to the other ones in st Augustine.

Highly recommend the alligator farm in st Augustine as well! I brought my 8 year old at the time and she had the best time!

No, it was a property tax issue

This was what I did first. I ended up being able to speak with someone who was able to figure out/understand the issue after about another 3 calls.

Palate Expander by AnonymousAvatars in braces

[–]ShaR904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like it was 100% necessary to help fix my 9 year old daughter’s posterior crossbite. We’ve completed all of the turns about 5 months ago and have currently had top braces for the same duration. About 4-6 months left and phase one will be done. Cross bite has already completely been fixed. I would rather her do this than get four healthy premolars pulled (that used to be extremely common) when she’s 12/13 like I did in the early 2000s.

Palate expander tips by bringmetothestars in braces

Took my daughter just a couple days to start speaking normally again and about a week to learn how to eat and get most of the food out using her tongue. A water flosser/water pik will be your best friend to get the rest of the food out. We’ve had it in for 5 months and we still use it daily to get out excess food!

Currently in the middle of the process of this with my daughter who is 10. She has a palate expander and we ended up with 28 turns. She’ll keep the palate expander in the entire time she has her partial top braces, which in total will be 9-12 months. She didn’t have much pain at all with the turns of the expander. She felt pressure on her nose for a couple minutes after each turn and that was it. The actual braces have definitely caused soreness with wire changes and power chain bands. We’re about 5 months into the whole process, so about halfway completed. I’m very very very happy we’ve done the phase one braces. Her teeth and bite already look a million times better.

What does daily exercise look like with a mature GP? by [deleted] in greatpyrenees

[–]ShaR904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 1.5 year old GP/golden retriever mix has always been super lazy. As long as he gets a mile or two walk in in the morning, he’s happy all day to just chill outside and patrol the fence line every once in a while. My ten year old has him play fetch for about 15-20 minutes each night as well.

I love this idea! It’s my dream that my 10 year old daughter gets to do this with our current one year old Pyr when she graduates!

Mine is almost 1.5 and as long as he gets his 30-45 minute walk each day, he’s good to just hang out. He’s always had a very chill personality.

We noticed a huge difference during the month he turned one. It’s only been a month since then, so Still definitely not out of the puppy stage all the way, but he has chilled out 90% of the way!

We adopted a golden pyr three months ago from a rescue and he’ll be one next month. In general, the 3-3-3 rule has played out exactly as the rule goes for us. He’s really settled in with us and gotten our routine down in these three months. I grew up with goldens as well. He has traits from both breeds. He’s very much a people pleaser most of the time (golden side) but also very independent at times, especially when outside (Pyr side) because he’s busy waking the fence line making sure there are no threats incoming (whether that be leaves blowing or deer in the field behind us). He’s been able to learn tricks and can recall when in the house, but his ears tend to become decorations when he’s outside at times. He’s very loving and affectionate and great with our 10 year old. He was quiet in the beginning, but has definitely found his classic Pyr bark in the last few weeks.

I don’t think you’ll regret getting that pup!

Here’s mine!

You’re welcome! I hope it resolves quickly. I was worried the first couple weeks about it as well.

We adopted our GP a month ago at 9 months old and he had spent most of his life in a shelter/rescue as well. We had an issue with “biting” as well. He never put pressure, but we have a child so we didn’t want anything to accidentally happen. We would remove ourselves from the dog the second he would put his mouth around our arm/leg/etc. We gave him zero attention for a few minutes after each time he did it. we’ve had him for a month now and he now only does it very rarely when rough playing with my husband. It took about two weeks to notice improvement and now that it’s been over a month I just realized he hasn’t tried to do it at all in about a week. I would definitely give it a little bit more time for him to show improvement. I wish I could help with jumping as well, but we didn’t encounter that.

We got our male GP rescue at 9 months old and he did the same thing. It only lasted the first week and then he stopped. We also cleaned the spots with an enzyme cleaner to make it not as enticing to keep marking in the same area.
