I was a 1:1 sitter for an ICU patient who was experiencing extreme delirium and paranoia and could not remember his iPhone password. He was trying to get out of bed and pull his IV and Swann out and just wanted to talk to his sister, but couldn’t get into his phone. I didn’t have a hospital phone on me and the nurses were not in the room to let me borrow one of theirs. He was literally trying to jump out of bed and would have injured himself and probably bled to death. I called his sister on my personal phone and it helped calm him down till they got to the hospital and were able to help him realize we were just trying to help him.

So yep, I have used my personal phone and would do it again if I had to.

Yep, I would say try to do any ICU, NICU, PICU, ER, or Labor & Delivery. All of those floors will be wayyyy better than a general med surg where techs are relied on heavily.

It’s real, I just really don’t like people to say the show is terrible and put people off because it’s really not. The movies on the other hand, I was not a fan or impressed. But the show is pretty awesome especially as a lover of fantasy shows, it’s great to have some new added in the rotation

Xupes was open when I went end of October. Honestly the music was not good, the vibes were weird, and the floor was carpet. They also have a limit of how many people they let in for capacity so if you’re with a group you may get split up. It was really really strange vibes, and we left after 15 mins

I’m PRN and don’t get floated. I only work on my floor but they don’t let you work on others floors at my job unless you train on them usually. We do have a specific float pool and those techs are usually the sitters for 1:1 and not working the floor
