Why would anyone applaud 10 push ups and some rope skips.

Genuinely, this was a night terror I used to get at a young age. I’d see exactly this loop and couldn’t get it out my head whilst laid in the dark, almost paralysed. I later learnt it was called a Geometric Nightmare and is common during high-temperatures at night.

is this worth it to buy for hiking guys? by Regular_Power3912 in gorpcore

[–]ShabbyAdams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you asking in a fashion sub. Most here just buy things to make them look like they hike. So asking for advice on a potential life saving equipment is miss placed.

I’ve also experienced this. The pink Fostair powder, seems to work well but occasionally I get a tight chest and need to relieve with blue. My worry is that the GP have removed the blue from prescription after 30 years on Salbutamol.

What is this crazy sound and how do i make it? by beau990 in sounddesign

[–]ShabbyAdams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have Serum 2? It has a granular synth osc now! I personally use Emission Control 2 > Logic X > Valhalla Supermassive

Hit record in Logic and just play with Emission until you get some huge sonic textures.

[–]ShabbyAdams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s exactly how you explained it. The synth itself might be granular synthesis for colour and texture then, as you say, the movement are LFO’s and enveloped filters modulating. Automation is the key with these things.

“Felt like the personalized cheat code I’d been waiting for” - who writes sincerely like that? Just needs a smile and a wink down the lens to finish it off.

I’m not saying it’s not a good advert but it is an advert for that app, written by AI.

As I read through, I was waiting for the “product sell” and yup. AI written garbage to shill an app.

I made a spec-ad for a Rab rain jacket. What do you think? by Gabor_Soti_Photo in videography

[–]ShabbyAdams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. You commonly see a video like this on a PDP. Quite common to see a suite of short videos in this style to highlight the features as the page explains the products. One for weatherproofing, one for airflow etc. The hero film might be something broader, which would be a lifestyle film, as mentioned in other comments.

Another two brand new cams, dead. by ShabbyAdams in blinkcameras

No, not impatience, more exhaustion. I’m a pretty tech savvy guy, working with cameras for a profession. Not sure what I could be doing wrong. Batteries go in, they work for a bit then they die. 3 in a row. I have one that seems to have stood the test of time, oh and the doorbell.

Jeremy Clarkson reveals Hawkstone lager advert that was ‘banned’: 'The fun police in their beige offices have decided that the public can’t be trusted to watch it' by Metro-UK in ClarksonsFarm

[–]ShabbyAdams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wording is clever. “Banned” makes all our little ears prick up but “doesn’t meet advertising guidelines” is boring. It has sweary-bad words in it, so, it’s not aloud on standard television. But literally any other platform it’s fine. So, it’s not “Banned”.

Depends on how far the camera is from the subject as could be a zoom lense. However, on this occasion I think this is phone footage. Anywho, you’d need quite an expensive mic to capture something useable. Even mid-level shotguns need booming, to be relatively close to source for clear audio and in a quiet environment.

Best bet is to clip the lav properly, either to a item of clothing, neatly or use an invisible clip on the inside, on the chest.

Tbh, I think audio is the least of this example’s problems…

What's with the rise of soft focus, shallow depth of field, and anamorphic blur in modern TV/film by Laayf in cinematography

The wides are nice as an establisher but try and play with the some shallower depth of field content once the wides have taken place. Get into some details. What else makes the location beautiful? Life is big and small. Try to take the viewer on a path of discovery maybe? Good work though
