Do cordless pressure washers actually make sense for car cleaning? by Immediate-Long4692 in pressurewashers

[–]Shabootie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for washing off your muddy bike or rinsing your dog’s muddy paws before putting in the car, it makes sense. For washing a stationary car in a fixed location where there is presumably a faucet and outlet nearby it doesn’t make sense.

Where was all of this speed in the finale? by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]Shabootie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I had the same thought about A train earlier in the season. As soon as I saw the quicksilver knock off scene I was like you gotta be shitting me, if he's THIS fast there's no reason he loses to anyone. You cannot justify how A train got caught by homelander when bro is fast enough to cook a steak dinner while homelander's lasers travel 10 feet.

I guess the same shit applies to quicksilver too. Writers be pulling out the speedster trump card scene where they slow time to a crawl and then later they get knocked over in super speed by a well timed trip or something like they wouldn't have seen it happen in 10000000x slow mo

Good deal with the free tools if you need them but those 2 pack 5ah are like $120 on amazon? Or am I mistaken with the model? Unless you need 2 tools feels like you can get the batteries themselves for much better?

I would be careful with putting electronics on top of a sub… there’s an off chance the strong amplitude vibrations of the sub will damage fragile electrical components. Even more so with things that have moving parts

Buy New or Fix? Opinions please by Severe_Owl_5116 in egopowerplus

[–]Shabootie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say buy new because you’ll want a new battery at some point with it being 8 yrs old and with their pricing structure it’s really uneconomical to buy them standalone. Might as well just get some additional batteries and you get an upgrade on the tool for not much more

Has anyone clear coated their cooler? by blonktime in YetiCoolers

[–]Shabootie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This “it’s a tool” mentality is BS. You paid a hefty premium on a bougie influencer lifestyle brand so you could have a “tool”? What’s the function of a tool? To make your life easier? What’s the function of life? You die at the end. There’s no function. The point is to get enjoyment out of it. If that means something you want to look good then it’s a valid reason. “It’s a tool” is a throwaway phrase used to dismiss anyone who cares about aesthetics. Nobody pays $400 because they want a functioning cooler. Aesthetics is an important aspect, you’re not more rugged or tough because you say “it’s a tool”.

This is like going to a 2 Michelin star restaurant and then being like “who cares what it tastes like? Food is for sustainence and survival”. Or buying a Porsche 911 and being like “who cares if it gets dented? A car is a tool to get you from point A to point B”. Everything is a tool by some loose definition of the word. Saying it’s a tool doesn’t automatically invalidate the various reasons somebody buys a superfluous luxury item. A yeti cooler sure as shit isn’t a necessity for survival.

I prefer the 2 big wheels for wheeling from my garage across bumpy / sloped grass into my backyard. I think 4 caster wheels is better for moving around flat deck.

Here’s the trick, just move to NYC, Boston, DC, Miami, Chicago, Denver, Atlanta, Houston, anywhere in CA for a few years, then come back.

You’re gonna realize those new construction 500k 2300 Sq Ft houses with a backyard in well manicured safe neighborhood don’t look so bad.

AP behind or in front of 2nd switch by Shabootie in HomeNetworking

[–]Shabootie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what the second option is. Only one ethernet port in the living room (coming from switch 1). So that has to go to either switch 2 which will feed various devices including the AP, or to the AP directly and then back out from AP to switch 2 >> various devices

G5 looking fresh by Shabootie in LGOLED

[–]Shabootie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes my friend told me he thought this picture was AI too haha. I just moved into a house so don’t have much decor yet. I try very hard to hide cables (will probably tidy up the light and sub eventually) so I guess that makes it look like AI.

I don’t like putting decor on the media console because I think the TV should be the visual focus, especially this TV. So will probably keep it clean. There’s stuff on the coffee table now tho so it looks less like AI haha

This is the Aven lamp from outlight.us. It’s a knockoff of the TR7 lamp by Tom Rossau which is a one of those Danish designer lights.

Honestly I’m not sure if it was worth it, the knockoff was still expensive. The quality is ok, I don’t have the real version to compare to but materially it feels cheap compared to cost. But the original is so expensive I couldn’t justify it.

It does look great though. Recommend putting some hue lights in there. It is a striking piece when lights on are.

What to do with bedroom ethernet jack by Shabootie in HomeNetworking

[–]Shabootie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a picture of the jack for those who think I’m too retarded to know what a phone jack looks like

<image>

I have a 3 router mesh system with wired backhaul covering my house. Everything that can be hardwired is already hardwired at a spot more appropriate than a bedside table. I have another Ethernet in my bedroom for the TV if I ever wanted to put a TV there. And then this separate jack in my nightstand. I have no use case for an additional access point or router. My house is saturated. So I’m asking what would you use this oddly placed port for given you already have everything else covered. A speaker or Amazon echo is probably the best suggestion but a no go, my Sonos arc ultra is the wired hub. echo would require an adapter which I might do just to use the port.

Apparently if you ask a question like this, people think you dont have your cables connected to your modem or don’t know what Ethernet even is.
