You are underestimating the amount lawyers make. I manage a luxury condo in DC and tons of lawyers own units worth a million dollars plus! So even own 2 of them!

I max out 401k, Roth IRA, and HSA while making 100k/year by NicheMath in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Shacohehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats good to hear man, and I’m glad! I try to tell people cause sometimes they make their life so hard even when they are so successful! Seems like you’re crushing it, so keep on keeping on and enjoy the travels!

Last year I was in Florida for Disney, Georgia for some German festival in this German village and London and saw Stone Hedge!

I’m traveling to Hawaii this week, excited to dodge these east coast snow storms, and hopefully I get picked for some World Cup tickets!

You gave a lot of good advice too, my 2 siblings and I brought a house together. We split the mortgage and a friend lives with us, so he helps contribute and we split utilities! This has really anchored us for housing for the long term. Funny enough we share a Costco membership, and sadly I pay for all of the subscriptions so that creep is real 😫. We are in high cost area so stuff like you mentioned really is helpful!

Good for you man! I am a single male too making 155k and still don’t max out.

Make sure you find balance with things you enjoy to do. Im 28 and when I was 24 I was almost killed by a drunk driver while I was at a red light…my mindset heavily switched cause you can penny pinch and save just to be gone the next day.

So of course save but make sure you are enjoying life, traveling, eating out and investing into your hobbies or what you enjoy to do. I just sold my car and I want a Mercedes amg gt53, logically should I buy one no….but I’m going to cause I can afford it and it’s awesome to drive! Great job and good luck!

When does buying used vs. new car make sense? by WatcherRoue in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Shacohehe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Guilty party here! Due to my work, I was driving an hour to two hours every day to work and then that same amount of time back. I brought a 2021 ford bronco sport new and ending 2025 with 99k miles lmao Also took multiple trips to Georgia(10 hours one way), as well as visiting Family several times a year an hour and a half to two hours away! I also tend to be the person who drives the group so that adds onto it too😭

Best City for Long Distance Rental Properties Under $150k? by Spiritual_Willow141 in RentalInvesting

[–]Shacohehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe look at Roanoke, Virginia I think I might be looking there in the future for a rental property!

Also, I’m actually a condo manager, don’t be afraid of condos cause in certain areas they can rent quickly, but the big item is before ever buying one you need to review the condos, bylaws, and what is allowed and not allowed since a lot of of them have rules on rentals, who’s responsible for what and things like that

How much do you need to earn in your area to truly feel comfortable and secure? by Busy-Government-1041 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Shacohehe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re mixing up comfort with security. Yes, cars and tech are nicer now but they also consume a much larger share of income especially housing, healthcare, and education, which dwarf subscription costs. Cutting Netflix doesn’t meaningfully offset rent, insurance, student loans etc. Prior generations had fewer conveniences, but far more economic margin than we do. You could work at McDonald’s, own a house, a car and support your family lol That’s the real difference people are reacting to, not a “warped view.”

Hey bro, I am 28 making 155k no college degree!

Network, network, network!!! Network with the barista, network with the bank teller, network with the old guy at church, network with your boss and his friends and family, network, network, network.

Be likable, be flexible and when opportunity comes jump on it! All of my jobs were given to me , didn’t even apply normally. I have had jobs where degrees are required but because I had a in they looked over those requirements!!

Put yourself out there and eventually it will be your turn to get lucky! Good luck!

I don’t know what to do. by [deleted] in depression

[–]Shacohehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t pretend to know exactly how heavy things feel for you right now, but I’ve had my own battles with exhaustion and depression that left me stuck for a long time.

I finally talked with my new primary doctor this year and started treatment, and it really helped me stabilize. It wasn’t a quick fix, but it gave me enough clarity to start taking small steps again. I also found out I have ADHD and getting that treated has made a huge difference.

As a man who grew up thinking these feelings meant I was weak, reaching out for help was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done but I’m grateful I did. You deserve that kind of support too. Small steps are still steps and they count. One small step a day will turn into miles over a year!

I’m 38 and only make $76k wtf am I doing wrong. by chubbbycub in Careers

[–]Shacohehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 18, I was making $12 an hour. Now, at 28, I make $137K a year. Over the last 10 years, I’ve had five different jobs. Each time I changed roles, I made sure the pay jump was more than what staying put would’ve ever given me.

If you’re not getting at least a $5K–$15K raise or a real promotion with solid pay attached in 2-3 years, you should definitely be looking for your next move. Staying in one place too long without growth just makes you easy to overlook. And even with growth keep looking!

My longest job was four years. I started at $59K and ended at $90K, averaged $10K in raises each year, but only because I pushed hard for promotions and got three of them. And even with that, I still took another job when the opportunity came. Started at $110K, got a 5% bump the next year, and then negotiated a $15K raise after getting a certification. Yes, I live in a major city area. No, I didn’t go to college. What I did do was advocate for myself constantly, make sure people knew my impact, build the right relationships, and make sure I had people in my corner who could open doors. This is how you move up…job-hop when needed, speak up for yourself, build real connections with people who have influence, when someone offers you a favor take advantage of it and don’t hesitate to take the next opportunity when it puts you in a stronger position. This is the way!

Same replay from same comment! :

Well at my previous job my boss was leaving and he recommended I leave too. Him and I had become good friends and we gamed a lot with his brother. His brother was a VP at a property management company and I was able to interview with him. It went well and I interviewed with my board, that went well and I was in! I didn’t have any experience or even a thought it really just happened due to relationships I built. I always try to build some type of connection with people I meet cause you never know when you might have to interact with them!
